The match that will define Mexico's course for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is getting closer, less than a day before the Mexican National Team receives its United States counterpart to start the last FIFA date of the Concacaf Octagonal, on social networks the call to sing the homophobic cry.
Different fans will try to use the Tri match at Azteca to express their dissatisfaction with the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) and Liga MX for the decisions they made after the fight between bars that took place in Querétaro on March 5, in which there were 26 injured and so far 25 detainees.
However, the use of the cry that incites discrimination could bring sanctions for the public and for the Aztec team. In the first instance, Yon de Luisa, president of the FMF, has already warned that anyone who is identified using the scream will be expelled from the party. Despite this, the call to boycott Femexfut and the Tri began to gain strength.
What will happen if the homophobic cry sounds?
In the first instance, the protocol that FIFA has already implemented in previous matches would be activated. In other words, as soon as the referee detects the prohibited phrase, he will be obliged to stop the match until the phrase is no longer heard.
What will change this time is that security elements will have the willingness to expel the person, for this they will rely on the new Fan ID identification system
It should be noted that all people who come to Azteca to watch the game had to make a prior registration on the FMF page to obtain their Fan ID in which they provided personal data such as name, ticket number, email and a photograph of his face.
So if he or she sounds the scream, through different surveillance mechanisms they will identify the person, go to the section where he or she is and expel the person who committed the offense.
With the information of Fan ID, the FMF could ban the fan expelled during Mexico vs. the United States indefinitely, consequently they would not be allowed to enter future matches of the Mexican National Team and would not enter the stadiums in Mexico, depending on the seriousness of their infringement and the sanction determined by the authorities sportswear.
How would the homophobic cry affect the Mexican National Team?
Although the Tri has already experienced financial fines and fan vetoes due to public behavior, FIFA could raise the level of sanctions and leave directly with the Tricolor score.
In accordance with the regulations of the highest international football body, and due to the constant appearance of the scream, FIFA would already sanction Gerardo Martino's team directly in the reduction of points in the qualification to Qatar 2022.
