The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has some types of pension that will be granted in certain circumstances, such as the one authorized for permanent disability. Below we will explain how to process it and when it can be requested.
What is permanent disability pension? It shall be executed in the event that the worker suffers an accident or illness in practice, also in the event that his employment implies a decrease in his or her ability to work (partial disability) or the loss of his faculties or aptitudes that makes him unable to perform any job for the rest of his life (incapacity total).
According to the IMSS, it will apply in case of occupational illness or accident that prevents you from continuing your work. To do this, a medical opinion will be requested to support your condition, whether it is total or partial permanent disability.
Those affected will be given a period of up to two years, during which time the institutional medical services may order a review of the state of disability and the citizen will also have the right to request it. In the event that the established time passes and there is no improvement, then the final pension will be given.
How to apply for permanent disability pension?
*The procedure may be carried out in the Family Medicine Unit or the Subdelegation of secondment from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or as determined by the Delegation.
*You will need to consider the following documents:

In order to access the benefit, it must be remembered that the insured person must be in force in his/her rights, that he/she has suffered an occupational risk resulting in total or partial permanent disability to work and that the incapacity for work has been ruled by institutional medical services.
Another opportunity offered by the institute to pensioners due to permanent disability is that financial assistance will be provided as a family burden to some relatives.
