After the first race of the 2022 season, Formula 1 revealed its already customary Power Ranking of the weekend, where five anonymous analysts evaluate the performance of each driver without counting their “machinery”; however, from Mexico and Latin America they usually criticize the final list for the constant exclusion of Sergio Pérez.

After the intense and dramatic end of the Bahrain Grand Prix, Checo Pérez was not only excluded from the points due to engine failures, but his work over 56 laps was not enough to convince the Formula 1 experts, who they left out of the Top Ten again.

Although initially the answer to his absence would be obvious, since he could not finish the race, what raised the anger of the fans was the inclusion of Max Verstappen in the top three, although the Dutchman also suffered a withdrawal.

This is how F1 qualified the top ten drivers of the Bahrain Grand Prix:

1. Charles Leclerc: 10.0

2. Kevin Magnussen: 9.6

3. Max Verstappen: 9.2

4. Lewis Hamilton: 8.6

5. win Zhou: 8.2

6. ValtteriBottas: 7.8

7. Alex Albon: 7.8

8. Carlos Sainz: 7.6

9. George Russell: 7.6

10. Esteban Ocon: 7.6

To the dissatisfaction of several followers of Sergio Pérez, the tapatio was not taken into account in the top ten despite having ranked fourth, surpassing Lewis Hamilton with a spectacular maneuver and keep him behind almost the entire race, until the petrol system of his car failed and lost his place on the podium.

This breakdown was the same one suffered by his teammate Max Verstappen, who despite leaving the Bahrain GP, was rated the third best of the weekend under the following arguments:

“Sunday was a terrible day for Red Bull, but it shouldn't overshadow the brilliant handling of reigning champion Verstappen, who probably would have resulted in second place. He kept Leclerc under pressure at all times, and he only retired when his RB18 had an engine problem. There is more to come from the flying Dutchman, that's for sure,” Formula 1 stated on its official portal.

Checo Pérez, in addition to placing fourth in the entire race and maintaining pressure on Carlos Sainz, did not qualify for analysts to be well qualified and fell short of other controversial drivers, such as Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon or George Russell himself.

Alex Albon de Williams was expected to languish in the back of the pack (his teammate Nicholas Latifi finished 16th), but he finished P13 for the flag, and ahead of the McLaren,” Formula 1 argued against Albon.

The one who was pitied by the official Formula 1 media was the Englishman Russell, as F1 mentioned that “Despite qualifying in a half-ninth in his full-time debut with Mercedes, George Russell rescued a brilliant (albeit a bit lucky) P4 and limited the damage for a Silver Arrows team”; so fans lashed out in social networks.

Supporters of Checo criticized the results and recalled that it is always the same with Formula 1 assessments, especially with a particular group of drivers.

“Maybe, just maybe... it would be good to realize what Checo does in a race before labeling it with a score. Brilliant racing prowess with a subtle thought behind his overtaking, the fastest man on the track with means when the others were with soft, defended while losing power and more,” said the account @checotivation.

A large number of responses were in English and criticized the choice of riders such as George Russell or Lewis Hamilton over the Mexican, especially for having included Max Verstappen among the best, so the criterion of dropping out of the race was eliminated.

This concludes the 2022 Bahrain GP, less than a week before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix begins, where the two Red Bull and Checo Pérez will seek to recover from the bitter drink they spent on the Sakhir circuit.
