After the inauguration of the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), social networks turned against Gerardo Fernández Noroña, as a video circulated in which watched President López Obrador ignore the deputy while he handed out some greetings.
The mockery was not long in coming for multiple users, who understood the images as a premeditated action by AMLO not to approach the activist of the Labour Party (PT), so Noroña himself had to go out and defend himself and respond to those who misinterpreted the video.
“That is absolutely false. It's an intrigue, both comrade President López Obrador and Beatriz Muller greeted me very warmly. In fact, for obvious reasons, the comrade president was very happy,” said the deputy for Mexico City's 4th district on March 23.
The Mexican politician and sociologist even invited his followers and the official account of the airport to share the image of the greeting that, according to his words, he did receive from President Obrador, since he even mentioned that there were “quality witnesses” who observed the moment, such as governors Rutilio Escandón and Victor Castro, as well as businessman Carlos Slim.
These reactions came after he lashed out at his detractors, especially those who criticized the construction and inauguration of the AIFA, as he classified the propagation of the video as a lie and a “burning” reaction to the reception he had at the airport.
As if that were not enough and in search of making it clear that it had not been ignored, he shared a video prepared by one of his followers, which included a compilation of AMLO's journey during the opening to show that the clip released showed a fragmented part that did not correspond to reality.
“They are playing the final part of the video, right after we had been greeted. They greeted Rutilio Escandón - on my left side -, a servant and, Victor Castro - on my right side. We are tracking the video to dismantle this new intrigue,” said the deputy allied to the cherry party.
It should be remembered that Fernández Noroña was hit hard on social networks for the video, especially because of the times when he has presumed his good relationship with López Obrador and the affectionate greetings that are supposedly given each other.
On the same subject of the airport and the opposition's position, Deputy Noroña welcomed the fact that the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) declared Lake Texcoco a Natural Protected Area (ANP) and lashed out against the opposition, assuring that this sector supported the initiative to build the New Mexico City International Airport (NAICM), a project that was promoted by PRI's Enrique Peña Nieto.
In this regard, the activist of the Labour Party (PT) wrote the following message on his Twitter account: “Another nail in the opposition coffin, today Lake Texcoco was determined as a protected natural area. True, those who call themselves protectors of nature wanted to build an airport on what was Lake Texcoco,” said the Mexican politician.
