Congress reaches signatures and files motion of censure against Minister of Health Hernán Condori

The parliamentarian of Popular Renewal, Jorge Montoya, signed the initiative despite the fact that he previously stated that his bench would give the head of Minsa a month to evaluate his management.

Tonight, the Congress of the Republic reached 33 signatures to file a new motion of censure against the head of the Ministry of Salud (Minsa), Hernán Condori, who was questioned on March 16.

On that occasion, the Popular Renewal bench, through its spokesperson Jorge Montoya, announced that they would give it a month of time to the minister to evaluate his management. However, the former admiral was one of the last 4 congressmen to sign the initiative, as were his co-religionists José Cueto and María Jáuregui.

“Sensibility prevailed, I am very happy that we have 3 signatures of Popular Renewal. Condori has proven unfit to lead the health care system. We are the country that has best handled the pandemic, which is why the health sector deserves responsible management, something we don't see in the minister. It is necessary for a capable and professional person to be at the forefront of this sector,” Avanza País MP Adriana Tudela told Canal N about the initiative of her bench mate Diego Bazán.

The congressmen of Fuerza Popular, like those of Peru Libre and Democratic Peru, abstained from signing the motion of censure. In total, there were 10 legislators from Avanza Pais, 2 from Juntos for Peru, 3 from the Purple Party, 7 from Alliance for Progress, 3 from Somos Peru, 3 from Popular Action, 3 from Popular Renewal and 2 not grouped.
