A Succession actor, a Friends actress, another Sopranos actress and another actor from Breaking Bad: This is the first line that HBO Max called for The Parenting, a horror comedy that will start shooting at the end of March in Massachusetts, United States. Brian Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Edie Falco and Dean Norris will be the family of a young couple, played by Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), who rent a house in the country to enjoy a weekend week in contact with nature.
That's what they're up to when they discover that the property is inhabited by a 400-year-old evil being. The sun and the green quickly disappear from the scene as the plot oscillates between the terrifying and the hilarious.
The Parenting is directed by Craig Johnson (Alex Strangelove) and the script by Kent Sublette. The production companies Good Fear Content and New Line Cinema are in charge of the production with Chris Bender and Jake Weiner in the executive artistic tasks.
The star cast made this film, which does not yet have a release date, trending on networks. Cox has just won — once again — the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards for his role as Logan Roy, the disturbing patriarch of Succession, which has already aired its third season. He is also a well-known actor in film, with roles in Troy, The Bourne Supremacy and Three's a Crowd (Rushmore), among other titles. His memoir, Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, was recently published in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Kudrow is a public favorite for her role as Phoebe — for which she received an Emmy — on the arch-popular sitcom Friends. On the verge of releasing Better Nate Than Ever, a Disney+ film directed by Tim Federle, he also has an important career in television and film acclaimed by critics such as Grace and Frankie, The Night of the Nerds (Booksmart) or The Comeback.
Whoever watched The Sopranos will not have forgotten Carmela, the character for whom Falco won three Emmys before receiving another for one of the first series that reflected the opioid crisis, Nurse Jackie. She recently played Hillary Clinton in the episode “Impeachment” of American Crime Story and ended her participation in the first two sequels to Avatar, the hit by James Cameron.
Norris, better known as Walter White's brother-in-law in Breaking Bad, Hank Schrader, returned to that role for Better Call Saul, the spinoff starring Bob Odenkirk, among other television works such as United States of Al. In film, he was seen in Masters of Deception (The Hustle) and Secret in Their Eyes, the American remake of the Argentinian film The Secret of Their Eyes, by Juan José Campanella, which won an Oscar.
