Although they formed one of the most explosive and irreverent pairs on Mexican television in the 1990s, when they triumphed with the program El calabozo, it has now transpired that Esteban Arce and Jorge Van Rankin would be distant and far from resuming their friendship due to personal quarrels.

It was journalist Alex Kaffie who, in his column in the Mexican newspaper El Heraldo, said that Arce does not want to know anything about El burro, whom he has known for around 30 years. “With a party, let's go! Esteban Arce Herrera, former host of El Calabozo (TELEHIT) and currently owner of Expreso de la Morning (FORO tv) celebrated his 60th birthday on the weekend (born on March 17, 1962). There were many guests, however among them was not the 'Donkey' Van Rankin”, the publication reads.

“And it is that Esteban hallucinates Jorge, in fact just hearing his name repulses him!” , added the journalist and collaborator of the program Sale el sol.

At the moment, neither of the two mentioned have commented on it. Although Kaffie's version could be accurate, it is also worth remembering that in March 2021 both Mexican entertainment characters were seen together on the YouTube channel AJolotev, where they talked about their experiences working on the remembered program that, due to the success, went from restricted television to broadcasting on open signal channels.

In the Anecdote section of the YouTube channel, the drivers were cordial and funny, remembering their anecdotes from the past on television.

Both presenters began their careers together in 1993, when they served as the official voices of the radio program El canyon del zopilote. Derived from the success of the radio show, the formula was transferred to television, when together with the Telehit producer, Memo del Bosque, they produced The Dungeon .

After the successful years, in 2001 they went as guests to the program Toma Libre, hosted by Facundo, where they surprised viewers by beating on the live program.

During their meeting, their spirits became so hot that the presenters ended up confronting the audience as witnesses. Esteban Arce then mocked that El Burro's career had not taken off after the end of El Calabozo, so much so that he had to venture into acting with the soap opera Carita de ángel, produced by Nicandro Díaz.

Arce made fun of “the worst performance” and “the ridicule” that Jorge Van Rankin did in his opinion, which generated a tense atmosphere in the forum. In addition, El Burro replied that Arce “had bitten his tongue” when he started working on a show program - Trapitos al sol - next to juan José Origel, despite the fact that he had always criticized this type of broadcasts.

The attacks began to become personal, even Arce commented that a friend of El Burro “lowered the old woman”, a comment that ignited the protagonist of 40 and 20. Between the dimes and diretes, the audience began to shout “Shot, shot, shot”, to which Arce commented:

“I exercise, I am a good man, and the Donkey farts...”, between pulls and pushes, the drivers came to the beats in the middle of the program of which the scenery ended up ruined.

In addition, 19 years after that, in August 2020, Donkey Van Rankin revealed in an interview with Fernanda Familiar that his relationship with the owner of Expreso de la Morning is almost nil, since he only maintains contact with him 5 to 6 times a year.

Van Rankin then said that his former friend was already “señorado”, while he maintains an “irreverent” character despite the passage of time.
