The Mexican National Team is preparing to face its last three World Cup qualifying matches for Concacaf. The qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup is close for Gerardo Martino's team, but nothing is certain yet.

Their next match against the United States will represent an opportunity to get the ticket, at least to the repechage, if in addition to winning, there are a number of combinations in other matches. The game against the top sports rival is key in tricolor aspirations, regardless of whether the pass against them is achieved or not.

After eleven matches played in the Octagonal Final, Mexico's national team marches third in the table with 21 points. Ahead are the teams from Canada (25 points) and the United States (21 points, but with better goal difference). However, where the Mexican leadership should focus its attention is below them with Costa Rica and Panama.

The Central American teams are still fighting for the possibility of getting directly into Qatar 2022, that is, in search of the places that Mexicans and Americans occupy. At the moment, the Canaleros are in fourth place with 17 points, while the Ticos place them in fifth place with one less.

In the calendar there are nine units left to be played, so that then mathematics becomes particularly important in the development of the matches on this day of Concacaf. The best scenario for the Mexican National Team revolves around being able to beat the Barras y las Estrellas squad on the court of Estadio Azteca and that their pursuers in the table do not win.

For the Tata Martino team to set foot in the next World Cup they need to get the three points at home and Panama, which hosts Honduras, will lose. The same goes for Costa Rica, who visit Canada. If none of these results occur, in addition to complicating the qualifying, uncertainty would increase for the Tri and the wait for the ticket would have to wait for their next and last games.

On Thursday, March 24, the Tri will face the United States at 8:00 p.m. on the court of the Colossus of Santa Úrsula, in Mexico City. Three days later, on Sunday the 27th he will visit Honduras in a game scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Finally, the qualifying tournament concludes against El Salvador on Wednesday 30 at 19:05, also in the capital.
