Continuously developing and evolving, Riot Games introduced a new update with specific adjustments to its tactical shooter. Version 4.05 arrives in VALORANT with a Nerfeo to Brimstone, the ability to import and export settings of configured reticles, a new system to prioritize the most appropriate weapons for the situation, after using skills and corrections within competitive mode.
What immediately strikes the attention was the reduction of the Booster Beacon's charges from two to one and the increase in its cost from 100 to 200. The Nerf to Skill came in response to its new dynamics: in addition to offering a higher rate of fire, it now also offers greater movement speed. The implications of his new beacon made him an agent capable of acting more like a duelist and made him a priority option.
“We believe that having two of them reduced the importance of deploying the beacon at exactly the right time. By applying the changes below, we hope to resolve this issue and at the same time retain Brimstone's refined identity as an 'explosive' ace of execution,” Riot Games explained about the tuning.
With the ability to import and export grid settings via auto-generated codes, users will be able to access the option through the settings menu in the grid tab. “Our goal with this configuration is that players can travel quickly with their melee equipped and that they are ready for combat after using an ability or interacting with the Spike, Ultimate Orbs, etc.,” they added about the modification to prioritize the strongest weapon.
To achieve the desired effect, they introduced two changes: they changed the setting from prioritize the Most Recent Weapon to Stronger and added the Do not equip melee weapon setting automatically. In addition, it should be noted that the player can queue the entries of the desired armament, that is, they can press “1″ or “2″ to equip the desired weapon at the end of the determined move.
Finally, Competitive Mode received general fixes and a “deterministic map system” applied to all regions, which is responsible for increasing the variety of queued maps. The development team acknowledged that there are a number of outstanding bugs in the Icebox map, which recently received significant changes. In that regard, they anticipated that they will seek to implement the fixes before the next release.
