On March 22, 2022, in the morning hours, the National Electoral Council (CNE) met together with the Ministry of the Interior and political parties to present their assessments on the irregularities that were reported in multiple municipalities of the country in the early elections of the legislative elections, held on last March 13, which has generated different reactions from citizens, parties and movements.
In the space, the CNE assured that there is no room for fraud in the Colombian system, due to the fact that there are many filters that strengthen the process, in addition, it was highlighted that votes are in chain of custody and that the pre-count has only an informative purpose and has no legal validity.
In the same vein, the parties were listened to give their opinion on the situation facing the institutional mistrust on the part of citizens, among them the Liberal Party asked that accusations of fraud not be made, that democracy be taken care of; and that the call on recount not be approved because it requires an economic effort and institutional level higher than we have.
For his part, at the head of the Mais Party, part of the Historical Pact and along the same lines as his collective, he flatly refused to recount because it breaks the chain of custody and destabilizes the process, adding to criticism the State's inability to guarantee a safe electoral process. He also added problems with the elections of indigenous and Afro representatives, due to the lack of guarantees for the country's minority communities.
The Green Party also noted that it does not agree with the count because it can become a significant problem and they ask that an expert review be done on the software. ASI, a party of the Centro Esperanza Coalition, joined the other parties and added that part of the scrutiny is still missing, so they do not consider that the solution to the irregularities is to break the process and that traditional mechanisms should be strengthened, as should the Communist Party, MIRA, Colombia Justa Libres, the Party of the U, the Polo Democrática, the UP, Dignity among others.
Radical Change called for the Registrar's resignation, noted that there are many officials who are disrespecting the process by getting into political propaganda, criticizing the process and conditions of their juries and asked that political processes be listened to beyond their differences with the Government.
Movement for National Salvation, went the opposite way to the other political processes and asked for a recount due to doubts that people have after encountering obvious problems in the E-14s and asked the registrants to take charge of the deficiency that today has reaffirmed the doubts that citizens have about institutionality.
In the case of the Conservative Party, it did not make its position clear but called for all mechanisms to be used to guarantee democracy and electoral exercise.
