On the morning of this Tuesday, March 22, a departmental Risk Management Council is held, cited by the governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás García, in which measures are being taken for the multiple emergencies that have occurred in recent weeks.
According to information from the territorial entity, the winter wave that hit 50 municipalities in the department, leaves as a result of several emergencies that caused the death of at least seven people.
“We are present in all affected municipalities with the ICCU machinery, with risk management, with housing, with social development, with immediate inputs and tools to deal with this emergency,” said the Governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás García.
Earlier this Tuesday, the governor assured that he was quoting the council in order to declare public calamity and thus have the tools necessary to face the winter wave that is plaguing the department.
Through his social networks, in recent minutes the governor of Cundinamarca said that the manifest urgency was established to implement the action plan to address public calamity.
Likewise, Governor Nicolás García assured that the first steps and discussions have already begun with the mayors of the different municipalities to start prioritizing the most critical points.
“At this time we are doing a census of suspension bridges in the mpios and we begin to meet with mayors to prioritize construction sites. Thanks to the entire Risk Management Committee for understanding the need to respond from now on to the winter wave that has begun until now,” added the president of the Cundinamarques.
