Authorities announced the capture of the alleged murderer of the murder of a policeman in San Pablo, Bolivar. This is Bairon Yovanny Cuesta Garizabalo, who allegedly attacked the member of Sipol with a firearm.
According to information from the prosecutor, Bairon Yovanny Cuesta was charged by a leading prosecutor of the Life Unit for the crimes of aggravated homicide and the manufacture, trafficking, carrying of firearms and ammunition.
The alleged perpetrator of the police officer's death did not enter the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation. Likewise, the subject was sheltered with a security measure in a prison center.
The Prosecutor's Office stressed that the insured person has other investigations by concert to investigate aggravated crimes, carrying and trafficking in weapons and homicide.
According to investigations carried out by the entity, Bairon Yovanny Cuesta activated a firearm against the member of Sipol, Jorge Bernal, while he was on the outskirts of the Prosecutor's Office in the municipality of São Paulo. The events took place on 26 February.
Three people went to jail for attack on the police in Cali
A security control judge from Cali issued an assurance measure in prison against Pedro Luis Caicedo, alias El Taxista; Mauricio Tierradentro Sarmiento, alias Mauricio and Jhon Brandy Vidal Posso, alias Brayner, who would be members of the residual organized armed group (Gaor) dissident Jaime Martínez.
According to the investigations carried out by the Attorney General's Office, these men have participated in the design, planning, and delivery of the explosive to carry out the terrorist act.
The events took place on 28 January in the Confamdi del Prado sector in the east of the city and left eight patrol cars and five civilians injured.
According to information provided by the authorities at the time, all persons who were injured in the middle of the bombing were transferred to health centers. During the reaction of the agents, Carlos Alberto Ambuila Martínez was captured in flagrante, who reportedly threw the explosive device.
Ambuila was brought before a criminal judge and was charged with the crimes of terrorism, attempted murder, manufacturing, trafficking, and carrying firearms for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives. The judge issued a prison insurance measure against this person on January 30 of this year.
Likewise, after the investigative work carried out by the authorities, it was established that Pedro Luis Caicedo, alias El Taxista, would be the one who contacted Ambuila Martínez and transported him in a vehicle to the place where the uniformed were.
“According to the investigations, alias Mauricio and alias Brayner, in addition to having participated in the design and planning of the attack, played their own roles during the attack with the explosive device,” reported the Attorney General's Office.
During the concentrated hearings, the Prosecutor's Office appealed the court's decision to release Rita Marleny Santana, who was charged with the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking, and illegal carrying of firearms for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives.
The woman had been detained in a house together with Pedro Luis Caicedo, alias the taxi driver, who claimed that she was her romantic partner.
