Ukrainian forces maintain the strong defense to contain the advance of Vladimir Putin's invading troops. As the days go by, there are more and more losses that the Russian army has been suffering in its quest to reach Kiev.

In the last few hours a video has been circulated showing how Ukrainian drones destroy Russian tanks. In the images you can see the armored vehicles camouflaged among the trees, in the middle of the forest, until they are hit by Ukrainian missiles.

The two-minute video shows several similar attacks that have been carried out in recent hours, in various parts of the country.

On Tuesday, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces estimated 15,300 Russian soldiers killed in almost a month since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Russian troops also lost 509 tanks, 1,556 armored combat vehicles, 252 artillery systems, 80 multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS) and 45 air defense systems.

The list of losses by the Russian side published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook completes 99 aircraft, 123 helicopters, 100 vehicles, three ships, seventy fuel tankers, 35 operational tactical unmanned aerial vehicles and 15 special teams.

Meanwhile, as reported on his Twitter account, journalist from the Kyiv Independent news portal, Ilia Ponomarenko, the daily Komsomolskaya Pravda, close to the Kremlin, today published that according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, there were 9,861 casualties in Russia's “special operation” in Ukraine.

The reporter, who shares a snapshot of the information, claims that it was deleted minutes later from the Russian newspaper's website.

It can be read that “according to preliminary calculations of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine and until March 20, the Armed Forces of Russia lost 96 aircraft, 118 helicopters and 14,700 soldiers.”

“The Russian Ministry of Defence denies the General Staff's information about these alleged large-scale losses. According to data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the course of the special operation in Ukraine, the Russian armed forces lost 9,861 people, and another 16,153 were injured,” adds the captured text.

On March 2, the Ministry of Defense admitted the death of 498 Russian soldiers in addition to 1,597 wounded soldiers.

“Unfortunately, among our comrades participating in the special military operation there are losses. 498 Russian soldiers died in the line of duty. We offer all possible help to the family of the fallen,” Russian Defense Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

Ukraine also assured that Russian forces have fuel and food for three days. “Russian occupying forces operating in Ukraine have stocks of ammunition and food for no more than three days. The situation is similar with fuel, which is replenished with tankers,” says the last part of the war by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The UN certified the deaths of 953 civilians since Russia launched the invasion, 78 of them children, and 1,557 injured. The agency's authorities clarify that the count only includes confirmed data and admits that the actual figures are much higher.

Secretary General António Guterres on Tuesday urged an end to the “absurd war” initiated by Russia, warning that the conflict is “going nowhere, fast” and that the Ukrainian people are “enduring hell.”

“Continuing the war in Ukraine is morally unacceptable, politically indefensible and militarily absurd,” Guterres told journalists.

Russia is crushing the besieged Ukrainian port of Mariupol into “ashes of a dead land,” the local city council said on Tuesday, describing two other huge bombs that fell on the city that has been isolated for weeks.

“Even if Mariupol falls, Ukraine cannot be conquered city by city, street by street, house by house,” Guterres said. “This war cannot be won. Sooner or later, he will have to move from the battlefield to the peace table.”

“It's time to end this absurd war,” he said.

Russia launched on February 24 what it calls a “special military operation” to destroy Ukraine's military infrastructure. Kiev and its Western allies have accused Moscow of indiscriminately attacking civilians, something Russian forces deny.

Guterres said that some 10 million Ukrainians have fled their homes and warned that the reverberations of war are being felt globally “with skyrocketing food, energy and fertilizer prices threatening to become a global hunger crisis.”

“There is enough on the table to cease hostilities -now- and to negotiate seriously -now-,” Guterres said.
