The Cinematheque takes the parks of Bogotá in 2022

It will happen in seven locations in the capital and admission will be free

From March 27, the cinema takes over the parks of seven locations in Bogotá when the 2022 season of the Cinematheque al Parque begins. This first day will be held at the Metropolitan Park El Tunal in the town of Tunjuelito, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a special agenda designed to promote the community's encounter around cinema.

Thus, to make an appearance to the Cinematheque Season in the Park, in El Tunal Park, different spaces have been set up: the first is Pantalla Capital where attendees will be able to watch, outdoors, films such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Te Busco, a Colombian film that will commemorate its 20th anniversary with a discussion between actors Andrea Guzmán, Álvaro Bayona and director Ricardo Coral, moderated by director and producer Dago García.

To complete the program, Alias María, by José Luis Rugeles, will be screened, and the short film program of Cinemateca Rodante entitled Nuevos caminos and the Audiovisual program for Early Childhood of the program Nidos will be presented.

On the other hand, the second space will be La Ruta Audiovisual, which will host all the programming around the processes of audiovisual creation with workshops and telescope experiences led by the specialized team of the Bogotá Planetarium.

Finally, the third space will be the Literary Picnic of Book to the Wind: More stories, more Book to the Wind, an unconventional reading place, in which a unique and different experience has been designed for readers to encounter the books of the Book to the Wind program, a traveling library that contains more of 100 books to read outdoors.

The music will also be present with a concert for children with María del Sol Peralta in the morning, and at the end of the day Los Guaqueros will be presented, composed of Mario Galeano and Mateo Rivano will present La Tragedia Rústica.

The Cinematheque al Parque is a commitment by Idartes (Instituto Distrital de las Artes) to reach all audiences, territories and neighborhoods with an audiovisual offer of the highest level that this year will tour the towns of Suba, Engativa, Sumapaz, Puente Aranda, Fontibón and San Cristóbal, offering free outdoor screenings of national and international productions and a varied program that includes sports activities, workshops and artistic experiences.

'From the Raíz' is a script residency created by the Algo en Común Foundation and the Manos Visible Corporation, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, which will be taken to Cali through various incentives that seek to promote creative development in the city's ethnic communities.

In total, there will be 20 scholarships to be awarded to the same number of compatriots, who are currently preparing as screenwriters, thus ensuring a stable future in films where they participate, also providing constant support in their training processes

This initiative is especially aimed not only at screenwriters, but also at writers and audiovisual producers belonging to Palenquera, Black, Raizal, Indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities throughout the country - although it will be held in Cali - and the closing of applications will be next Wednesday, March 30.

According to the Minister of Culture, Angelica Mayolo, 'From the Root' seeks to “strengthen the diversity” of the audiovisual products made by these groups.

It is a commitment with which we seek that 20 Colombians belonging to ethnic communities receive tools to enhance their stories, financial stimuli, access to laboratories and be able to enter a creative community,” the head of the cultural portfolio also said.
