Rubius, Ibai Llanos and other Spanish-speaking streamers react to the Xokas case

Xokas, known as Joaquín Dominguez, is in the eye of the storm in the digital world, especially on Twitter. The platform of the 'blue bird' where any kind of news goes viral, has staged the Spanish streamer for revealing that he used a fake account called CathyVipi to respond to those who criticized him for his content from his official account. He showed this in a live broadcast when he was taking a tour of the tabs on his computer.

At the news, the World of Warcraft expert acknowledged that he owned the fake account to respond to 'haters' and trolls'. “I made an account to insult people with few followers and not be attacked by my followers. You haven't discovered anything new. I couldn't respond to the imbeciles with my main account, because then my followers would have torn them apart,” he said in the broadcast.

However, this fact generated strong criticism of his person on social media after the style in how he responded to those who insulted his content or his person. This was no stranger to various streamers (and youtubers) because of the news. Let's remember that Spain is a country where the world of streaming has generated great local and international reception by people who make content for their followers. Among them are El Rubius, AuronPlay, Ibai Llanos, among others.

Even more so when a week ago the ranking of the 10 most viewed Spanish-speaking streamers on Twitch was revealed — a channel that jumped from YouTube to many streamers — in 2021. Xokas appeared in eighth place (23.31 million hours watched and a positive variation of 79%), behind IlloJuan, who also criticized the streamer's actions.

In that sense, these are the reactions of some streamers about what Xokas did.

“I didn't understand why Xokas was venting on a secondary account,” Ibai Llanos said in a fragment during a Twitch broadcast about what happened with Xokas. “He's in a situation where he needs help, real help. For me it is not justifiable, it is a serious mistake... it needs therapy,” added the fellow sports commentator. In addition, he added that a friend should not defend one's mistakes, but say them, with a neutral position.

ILLOJUAN

“What he has done is crazy, there is nowhere to take it,” said IlloJuan about Xokas, who also added that he needs therapeutic help. In his argument, he noted that he does not understand how Xokas is dedicated to responding to insults and negative comments to fake accounts.

On the other hand, in a viral TikTok video, there is a conversation between him and Ibai Llanos where he also criticizes the attitude of Xokas, who decides to call him in the middle of conversation to throw insults and other comments at him.

AURONPLAY

In one of the videos released by Xokas, he said that he seeks to be the Twitch number, a comment answered by the popular AuronPlay, famous for making video game content or being the target of “memeable” phrases. “Number one is between me and Ibai Llanos. If we start talking about numbers, we really start talking. Number one on Twitch is me and we are Ibai. That is so,” he said.

ARIGAMEPLAYS

The “good lolas chiqui” is one of the tweets of CathyVipi (Xokas secondary account) that went viral and rightly generated outrage on social networks for taking advantage of a “fake” account to make obscene comments. However, the streamer himself denied the fact, claiming that it was a “montage”.

In that regard, Arigameplays commented on the fact, where she acknowledges feeling uncomfortable because she knows him in person. “It makes me uncomfortable, yes, because Xokas is someone I know the person,” commented the Mexican content creator, stressing that she will not release “hate” about the fact and hopes that El Xokas will respond for what he did.

WHO IS THE XOKAS?

He is considered to be the highest-rated and largest streamer in relation to World of Warcraft. His experience in this video game caused a large number of fans to see him as a benchmark, as well as becoming his loyal followers on social networks and digital live broadcast platforms.
