The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) shared the call for the Summer Puma 2022 program to take the intermediate or advanced English course at a university in the United Kingdom.
The call is for the UNAM community and the general public who are interested in improving their English language skills.
During the course, students will develop and practice the language as well as learn about British culture, from “the capital of the United Kingdom, about one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and the way it shapes the lives of its citizens, its institutions and mode of government”. The Summer program Puma UNAM - United Kingdom, London will be held at King's College London from 4 to 22 July 2022.
Requirements to study English in the UK
* Be over 18 years of age.
* The passport valid for at least 6 months to travel abroad.
* Have travel insurance that has coverage abroad.
* Check the intermediate level of English, can be B1 or B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
What are the costs?
* The duration of the course is 3 weeks, you can choose the residential option or the one that does not include accommodation:
* The residential option costs £2,573, which at the current exchange rate is 69,236.60 pesos, includes the English and British Culture course at King's College London.
* Teaching material.
* Access to additional social and sports activities at the university, although some may have extra costs.
* Access credential to the facilities, including cafes and restaurants.
* Accommodation is in a private room in King's residences, with a shared kitchen, laundry, linens and wireless internet.
* In the non-residential option, accommodation must be arranged on its own account, it has a cost of 1,523 pounds sterling which with today's exchange rate is 40,982 pesos.
How to register for the Summer Puma program in the UK?
* Pre-registration must be done in the questionnaire available at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfZavZIsR_zzdgrMyfY8Q3-aRRra9vftRwa-JeFGGYw5z-LeA/viewform.
* Fill in the data requested by the system and upload the documentation.
* Those who are selected will be notified to explain the guidelines and instructions for making the payment.
* After making the payment, King's will issue a letter of acceptance so that the selected students can check the reason for going to the United Kingdom before the immigration authorities.
* In the case of Mexican nationals, they do not need a student visa to study the Puma Summer course because the duration is less than 6 months, but the letter after making the payment will be the document that proves the reason for the stay.
* After meeting all the requirements, they will be sent a virtual briefing to give the details of the university and the course.
Important dates of the call
* Pre-registration is mandatory, the deadline is May 24, 2022.
* Registration will be on May 31.
* The course will be held from July 4th to 22nd.
