In recent days, a prominent Millionarios player has been the focus of attention of the sports press in Portugal. According to local media, FC Porto, a club in which several Colombians have been fortunate enough to shine, would be closely following Daniel Ruíz, the Colombian jewel at the service of the ambassador team.
Rumors suggest that the number 10 of the albiazules is one of the names in the Portuguese team's folder with a view to strengthening its squad for the next pass market. Faced with the departure of Luis Díaz, who left a very good mark on the club, the management has increased the presence of its recruiters in the various leagues of the world, and one of their favorite destinations, as has already been demonstrated on several occasions, is Colombia.
At the beginning of this semester, Ruíz received the number left free by Harrison Mojica, who left for Ecuadorian football, in recognition of his good work in the last tournament and letting it be understood that today he is one of the most talented, and distinct, footballers in the squad. The 20-year-old contributed four goals and six assists to Millonarios in the previous season. One of those goals was scored in the 2021-1 League final against Deportes Tolima. I find that the capital's team would end up losing. It was a total of 2,251 minutes of play for the juvenile.
The midfielder has become a key player for the team led by Alberto Gamero. His football has given another face to the attack of the blues and with the passing of the matches it becomes an important name for the fans. He has participated in seven matches in 2022, adding 527 minutes, scoring a goal and giving an assist.
Although his performance was not as expected in the repechage matches for the Copa Libertadores, in fact, the game of Millonarios did not measure up, the player remains in the spotlight of international football. He has even been linked to River Plate, in Argentina, although there is nothing official that speaks about any interest of the band's team in the Colombian. If sold, its value would be around 1.10 million euros, according to the Transfermarkt portal. Ruíz Rivera is today one of the best rated players in the FPC.
According to a comment by Antonio Casale, in the program En la jugada, on RCN Radio, the player would leave the team in June, interrupting what the managers of the team would have described as “process”. The journalist points out that in the face of any generous offer they would not hesitate to lose the most unbalanced man the group has today.
Daniel Ruíz began his sports career in the ranks of Fortaleza CEIF, after having gone through the minor divisions of Deportivo Cali and the Bogotá selection processes. He initially joined the under-20 team of the Bogotá team, but thanks to his good performances, he quickly became part of the first team. On November 15, 2020, he scored his first goal as a professional, against Llaneros, in a match that would end up tied 1-1. His good performance places him on the radar of teams such as Atlético Nacional and Millonarios, the latter being the club he would sign with later.
The ambassador team presented it as their new addition on December 30, 2020. Sign a contract on loan condition for one year, with option to purchase. He made his debut in the Apertura Tournament against Envigado F. C. His first assist comes on February 18, 2021, against Deportivo Pasto, and the first goal is scored on June 20, nothing more and nothing less than in the final of the Apertura Tournament, against Tolima.
Their first brace appears in a 3-4 win over Atletico Bucaramanga, on September 12, 2021. At that time, the player's performance is undisputed and Millonarios decides to purchase 80% of his pass for a value of $350,000. Today he is undoubtedly one of the most prominent players in Colombian professional football.
Millonarios is at the top of the table today and for now there are not many moves ahead in terms of his squad, but there is no doubt that Ruíz has little time left in the team. If he continues to play as he is now, he would soon be in the ranks of some European club, probably Porto, which has been the home of players such as Fredy Guarín, Falcao García, Jackson Martínez, James Rodriguez, Juan Fernando Quintero and, more recently, Luis Diaz, today with Liverpool of England. It will be a matter of months before everything comes to fruition, although officially, neither the player nor his representative have demonstrated. Where will the bogotano go?
