Peru vs. Uruguay: Diego Forlán praised the collective and good handling of the ball of the 'bicolor'

Diego Forlan spoke a few days later about a new confrontation between Peru and Uruguay for Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. The former footballer put above the singles, the collective game of the 'bicolor'. He also praised the good ball handling of Ricardo Gareca's squad members.

“He has a good base, with a coach who has given the Peruvian national team a lot, so it won't be easy. On the other hand, also the moment of the Uruguayan national team, with a new coach, the hopes were renewed, the match with Paraguay, with Venezuela, the way it happened and with the stadium full (...) If the team is good, we can have a good match,” Forlan said for Movistar Deportes.

The former World Cup player highlighted the variants in the 'celeste'. “The national team has very good players and has variants. Unlike other teams, taking Argentina and Brazil out, Uruguay has that many players that can be starters from the bench.”

“There are always unbalanced and important players, but, in reality, more so collectively. It is a team that understood the coach's system well, it has achieved important things such as qualifying after 30 years in a World Cup”, he replied when asked about the Peruvian national team.

“The ball handling of each player is very good, he has shown it in the last editions of the Copa América, facing Peru is always difficult matches. They have good ball handling, which has always characterized not only the national team, but the clubs”, he added.
