Thomas Fabian Dominguez (21), one of the six defendants in pre-trial detention for gang rape in Palermo expanded their fact-finding statement on Tuesday morning. He did so with the assistance of his private lawyers, Jorge Alfonso and Silvina Fernández. Like Ignacio Retondo and Franco Lykan, pleaded not guilty. In addition, he told how the night that ended with the sexual abuse of the 20-year-old girl began, how he met the victim and what links him to the rest of the defendants. Also, in an unexpected move, he spread blame.
“On Sunday evening, February 27, we attended an electronic music bowling with Steven Alexis Cuzzoni and another friend, N.G. Over the course of the night, we meet the girl in question and her trusted friend, who proved to take care of her. We left the bowling alley at dawn with the girl, her friend and others (not including N.G., who left the place before it closed) and decided to walk around Palermo, first making a stop in Plaza Soler, where we talked for a while having a few beers,” Domínguez began in the statement that Infobae agreed to in the form complete. He claimed that he had ingested alcohol and ecstasy inside the bowling alley. In addition, he implied that the drug was delivered to him on the premises.
According to him, after that stop in Plaza Soler, the other people left until Cuzzoni, the victim with his friend and him, remained. That's when, “on a corner”, they met the other four involved (NdR: Ignacio Retondo, Ángel Ramos, Lautaro Ciongo and Franco Lykan). “We got close because they had a guitar and we started rapping while we talked and shared some cigarettes,” he said and said that he engaged in dialogue with the “rocker” aspect (NdR: Ignacio Retondo). “The biggest one (NdR: Franco Lykan) “was drunk and lying on the sidewalk.”
Then, always as stated, they stopped at Plaza Serrano and bought some cans of beer. “Alexis Cuzzoni and the girl go shopping and/or accompanies her to a bar to go pee (I don't remember well) and I make it clear to the girl's friend that he stays calm because I knew Alexis Cuzzoni,” Domínguez said.
According to her account, when Cuzzoni and the young woman returned from the bathroom, they passed a kiosk where they bought more cans of beer and sat for a while at the tables in a place, until the girl's friend told her she wanted to leave. She, on the other hand, told him that she preferred to stay. The young man retired and she stayed with the six defendants.
Minutes later, Domínguez said that he had an approach to the girl: “We have crossed eyes and I felt mutual interest. I start kissing her standing up, and I hug her.”
According to the statement, at that time “the boy with long dreadlocks” (NdR: Lautaro Ciongo Pasotti) remembers and proposes to go to his car, parked a short distance away. “Therefore, without much to do and, without a specific goal at least for me, we decided to go. Once we got to the corner where the car was, I remember standing outside against the wall, next to the bakery next to Alexis Cuzzoni, the long-dreaded guy, the rocker (NdR: Ignacio Retondo) and the burly one (NdR: Franco Lykan),” he said.
In this part, Domínguez aimed directly at Angel Ramos and Lautaro Ciongo Pasotti. What he said was that while he was on the sidewalk with Cuzzoni, Retondo and Lykan, “el morocho” (NdR: Ángel Ramos) and the girl got into the car through the passenger's side. Then, always according to his account, “the one with long dreadlocks” (NdR: Lautaro Ciongo Pasotti) entered from the driver's side, while the morocho came down, leaving the door ajar”.
Regarding the semen stains found on his boxer shorts, he argued that he “could have escaped” during the repeated and intense kisses he had with another girl inside the bowling alley under the effects of ecstasy, during the early morning of Monday, February 28. “At no time, neither inside the bowling alley with this girl I just mentioned nor outside the bowling alley, with the alleged victim, did I lower my boxer shorts or shorts (...) In the only moments I lowered my shorts and boxer shorts were the times I peed that, by the way, beer makes me want to do it constantly,” he said.
Towards the end of his statement, Domínguez again proclaimed himself innocent and vowed not to get on the Volkswagen Gol or to have done “the bell”. “At no time did I get into the car. I don't know the inside of the car. I just extended my arm inwards requesting a cigarette. I didn't walk around standing guard either,” Dominguez defended himself.
Regarding the fight with the neighbors, the young man said that, while on the sidewalk, he noticed that there were two people sitting on the edge of a blind in a place, and that one of them was filmed. According to him, he approached to question what he was doing recording them and asked them to stop doing it. “Whoever had the phone reacts badly and stops, at the same time as he grabs a stone like a piece of brick and starts to threaten; to which I react worse and a fight starts to build,” he explained.
That last part of Domínguez's statement is quite similar to that of Ignacio Retondo.
In short: the accused pleaded “not guilty” and asked for his final dismissal. In his defense strategy, he claimed to have consumed ecstasy, which he was propitiated in bowling. In addition, he marked Ángel Ramos, the most complicated of the accused after being arrested while dragging the victim from the scene of the incident, and Lautaro Ciongo Pasotti , whose shirt, boxer shorts, pants and stockings were detected semen stains, such as the alleged abusers.
Domínguez's request for further investigation had been made before he was prosecuted.
