Ignacio López Tarso lashed out at those who have headed the administration of the National Actors Association (ANDA) in recent years. In the midst of disgust, the renowned actor recalled that during his tenure in the organization he achieved several benefits, especially linked to infrastructure because at that time Mexico City was trying to rise after the 1985 earthquake.
The famous Mexican performer who shone in the Golden Age of national cinema with unforgettable films that have become classics such as Macario, El gallo de oro, El hombre de papel, Pedro Páramo, among many others, held a meeting with the media after casting his vote as part of the association. Like other member actors, he gave a glimpse of his disagreement and expressed solidarity in the search for transparency.
To begin with, Ignacio López Tarso assured that there are many changes to be made within the association, which is why during the voting week the new committee will be selected based on needs and demands. In this way, he assured that his son Juan Ignacio is a good candidate to be considered by his peers, as he trusts that he will do a hard job just as he did at the time.

“A lot of things have to be corrected, we have to work hard. For the next four years, my son will have to dedicate himself body and soul to get ANDA out of the hole where the last executive committees have taken it,” he said.
In this context, the protagonist of The Useless Life of Pito Pérez recalled that in 1985 he took control of the National Association of Actors and his management was characterized by rebuilding the facilities that were damaged after the earthquake that shook the then Federal District, leaving an indelible mark on the heart of Mexico.
“I left a prosperous ANDA, I left a walk with the newly rebuilt theater, with the foundations of the buildings. I received ANDA in 1985, immediately after the great earthquake, so the first thing I had to do was renovate the ANDA buildings and then almost tear down the Jorge Negrete theater, which was already very old,” he said.

The 97-year-old actor recalled that the cables of the venue almost touched the public, the seats were already very worn and more fabric was needed on the curtain, all changes that he made thanks to the fact that the ANDA had enough resources to be able to do so without any worry. He also stressed that during his time as secretary general none of his colleagues expressed any complaints to him.
“I never had a problem with the Actor's House, nor with the Andrés Soler Theater Academy, nor with Rosa Mexicano, nor with the children's instance, now this last committee has a lawsuit with everyone, damn it, you can't handle such a group,” he explained.
