Carlos Rivera is one of the most important Mexican singers today, and over the years he has consolidated himself as an international figure, also triumphing in Latin American and Spanish countries.

Since his launch into the art medium, when he was the winner of the reality show La Academia, in 2004, Carlos has been conquering the public, who surely has doubts about what the millionaire prize he won in the TV Azteca competition was spent on.

Now, the protagonist of José el soñador, was a guest on the podcast Do Not Do It Easy, hosted by Juanpa Zurita, who, in addition to his facets as an influencer, entrepreneur and actor, now ventures as an interviewer in the program where he has already had guests such as Yalitza Aparicio and Danna Paola.

And now the 36-year-old singer recalled that before joining the ranks of the TV Azteca competition, he made a promise to his mother and sister, which he did not forget when he won the prize he won thanks to his talent and public support.

“I always said to my sister and my mom. Years before all this. I told them 'One day I'm going to win The Academy, Mom and the day I win I'm going to pay for your house. Because she had that ISSSTE credit that she had about seven years to pay.

“I paid my mom's house, I paid my sister's career. I always told him 'One day I'm going to win the academy and I'm going to pay you. The first thing I'm going to do is buy my mom's house and pay you for the race, '” recalled Carlos Rivera in the talk he had with his friend Juanpa Zurita, who was his partner on the' researchers' panel of the program Who is the mask.

He is also an actor who has participated in important musicals such as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Mamma Mia! recalled that at that time he did not have the financial solvency to buy new clothes without affecting family spending.

“I enter The Academy... Well, they tell me that I am already in The Academy and they asked you for a lot of things. They asked us for five casual changes (of clothes) and we didn't have any money, and he says 'here, it's my rent this month', and with that I get to buy what I was missing,” said the singer.

By winning the program that was criticized by Lolita Cortes and Arturo López Gavito, Carlos Rivera not only fulfilled his promise to pay his mother's home credit, and his sister's college career, but also gave the latter a surprise.

“When I win, I don't just buy my mom's house. I pay for her career and buy her apartment for my sister,” recalled Cynthia Rodriguez's boyfriend.

Just in the third week of March, the host of Venga la Alegría wrote an emotional dedication to her boyfriend, who reached the age of 36.

I don't have enough 24 hours to celebrate you as you deserve, but I do have a life to thank God for you. This is how I want to see you always, smiling, fulfilling every dream. Happy birthday, my love! ”, he wrote. Carlos Rivera was not far behind and replied: “And you are the best gift.”
