Golovkin lashed out at Canelo Álvarez again: “It's unprofessional”

Faced with the uncertainty about the third fight that both fighters could have, “GGG” got tired of hearing Alvarez's statements, so he sent him a reminder of his quality as a boxer

One of the rivals that has had the most impact on Saúl Canelo Alvarez's career is Gennady Golovkin. The Mexican boxer has already faced him twice and only once has he been able to beat him; at the beginning of 2022 the possibility of a third chapter of the rivalry between Canelo and GGG opened up.

However, as time passed, the fight has been postponed and so far there is nothing concrete. Only rumors have emerged that the fight could take place in September and at the same time both boxers have offered statements about the event, so Golovkin again launched criticism against the tapatio.

Recently, the Kazakh boxer pointed out the lack of professionalism on the part of Canelo, as the statement reached him in which Álvarez described the third fight against Golovkin as “personal” . This statement was not to the liking of the world champion, so it shook the way in which Saul expressed himself in the trilogy.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Golovkin again questioned Canelo's decisions regarding one more fight and the way in which he has handled the third chapter of his rivalry. For GGG, the fact that tapatio qualifies the fight as a “personal” event is an action “too low” for a professional boxer.

“There's no bad blood on my part, but seeing how he approaches it saying it's personal, where have you been after our second fight? , let too much time pass. Why did he accumulate so much bad blood? It's unprofessional, too low for a fighter to approach it that way.”

And it is that, although Canelo vs Golovkin III has not yet been confirmed, little by little the previous match has heated up thanks to the statements of both fighters. But for his part, Golovkin did not want to officially confirm the fight against the Jalisco.

Before thinking about Canelo Álvarez, for the destroyer the first thing on his agenda is the fight he will have in April when he measures against Ryota Murata. He considered the idea of his confrontation with the unified 168-pound champion “premature”, so he asked to wait after May, as he shared it for the British newspaper The Sun.

It's premature to have an argument. Let's wait until May, wait until our fights are behind us, then we can discuss and we will have a better understanding of what is going on.”
