Golden Age: who were Pedro Infante's friends in real life

The “Idol of the People” was one of the actors most loved by his peers, who assured that the singer was one of the most humble artists

During the Golden Age, Pedro Infante stood out among his peers for his charisma and although some actors claimed that he was a very egomaniac person, his ability to make friends while working on the recording sets was stronger and he maintained close relations with several of his colleagues.

Actors such as Joaquín Cordero have assured that Pedro Infante was a person who wanted all the attention of the public to be focused on him, demanded that things be done according to his tastes and was rude to his peers.

However, the Idol of Guamúchil made great friends while working for films and some of them defended the actor years after his death.

Jorge Negrete was one of the first friends that the Sinaloa had when he began his career in film, because since he ventured as an actor he turned to the help of Charro Cantor, who did not hesitate to support him to obtain his first leading role.

The daughter of the Guanajuato, Diana Negrete, in several interviews recalled that the friendship between her father and Infante was so strong that the Idol of the People used to bring ostentatious gifts to the protagonist of ¡Ay, Jalisco, don't laugh! on their birthdays.

Blanca Estela Pavón was another of Sinaloa's closest friends and their close relationship even raised rumors about an alleged romance. On several occasions La Chorreada had to make it clear that she saw Pedro Infante her “almost brother”, while the Idol of the People claimed that Pavón was her platonic love.

They starred together in five films that were very well received by the public, but their on-screen romance came to an end with the death of Blanca Estela. Pedro confessed that the tragic death of his friend hurt him so much that he could not hold back his tears during his funeral.

Another of Infante's closest friends was Evita Muñoz, with whom she also worked on the trilogy of We the poor. Although they acted together in only three films, their friendship lasted until the death of the Sinaloa.

The protagonist of Pepe el Toro and his second wife, Irma Dorantes, felt so close to Chachita that they asked her to be the christening godmother of their daughter Irma Infante. Evita refused to talk about Infante after his death out of respect for the memory of his friend.

In Nosotros los pobres, Pedro met Katy Jurado, who also worked on the tape and from her first day on the set of recordings they became great friends. The actress at several events in tribute to the Idol of Guamúchil defended the legacy of her friend.

Silvia Pinal was another actress who starred in a rumor with Infante about an alleged romance. The actors had very good chemistry in the films they starred together, to the point where the public believed that this was because in real life they had a courtship that they sought to hide.

The Film Diva on several occasions denied that this was real, but she did defend that her friend was a very good person and regretted the singer's passing.

Sara García, the grandmother of Mexico, when for the first time she worked with the protagonist of Los Tres Huastecos, couldn't stand it, but over time they smoothed out their rough edges and kept a very tight one friendship.

Other actors such as Maria Felix and Luis Aguilar even declared that they were not friends of Pedro Infante, but they applauded the gestures he had with them by giving them gifts and always being professional at work.
