The “war against inflation” announced by President Alberto Fernández became a central issue for the government, which is looking for ways to contain the increases but for now does not achieve the desired effect.
In this context, spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti questioned the indiscriminate price hike in a forceful way: “If greed is always something unacceptable, at a time of international war and economic crisis in Argentina, emerging from a pandemic, I would almost say it is a criminal act.”
“The President has indicated to ministers to be relentless with those who seek to speculate and make an extraordinary income at this time,” he said in a dialogue with Jorge Rial on Radio 10.
