The National Museum has been one of the most important windows in the country, not only for great artists, but also for those who have taken unknown steps in both painting and drawing, not to mention music, and precisely, it will be this element that will bring together several talents on the same stage.

Young artists from all regions of the country will land in Bogotá to be present at the first edition of the Festival Mutante, a space organized, precisely, by the oldest and most valuable museum in the country to show their views of the country through rhythms that predominate in youth, thus generating an amalgam of knowledge as well as sounds, moving from rock to electronic and from urban to folklore.

Other aspects, such as auteur music, alternative pop, trap and hip hop will also be heard due to their importance in the country and the very reception they present in the regions, resulting in a great meeting with young talents, where various musical proposals will also be exhibited.

According to Juliana Restrepo, director of the National Museum, this new initiative “seeks to promote musical spaces, new scenarios for cultural consumption and the circulation of new performers” through a stage as powerful as the museum, having the opportunity to lead “an exchange of knowledge” in which “they will leave to see how the new generations absorb everything at the same time and capture in their music the ways in which they perceive their realities and the environment that surrounds them”.

This cultural commitment is part of the Somos+Museum program, which also has the support of entities such as Ecopetrol and the Association of Friends of the National Museum -AAMNC-, and the concerts will have the Teresa Cuervo Borda auditorium as the main stage. It will even have online broadcasts for those who cannot enjoy the event in person.

This is how the Mutant Festival will develop

From April 1 to 30, the terms and conditions for participating in the events will be enabled on the National Museum portal. Likewise, a registration form will be available for regional and local artists who want to join the great musical gathering. In fact, there are already several local talents that make up the festival.

The first of these is the Bogotan band 'Aguas Ardientes', which includes in their repertoire sounds related to country, blues and punk, as well as folk in which they reflect on the multiplicity of realities that inhabit the city. They will play next April 1.

Ha$loPablito is another of the selected singers and stands out, among other things, for his participation in the 2019 Stereo Picnic Festival, the Funka Fest 2019 in Ecuador, as well as his show together with Sticky M.A. in Mexico, Sónar Bogotá and Sónar Barcelona, where he was classified as “emissary of the trap with a Colombian soul”.

With a more Colombian air arrives the Manizalita Isabel Ramírez Ocampo, known as 'La Muchacha', which mixes popular sounds with new world rhythms. Santiago Navas, composer, record label manager and producer, will speak at the event. Both will perform on May 20, while Ha$loPablito will sing on Friday, April 29.

To the relief of many interested in attending the Festival, admission to the concerts will be free, with prior registration. The ticket office will be claimed at the museum box office and all the programming can be found on the museum's website.
