In the last few hours, messages appeared on social networks denouncing that the system of the National Directorate of Migration to complete the “Electronic Affidavit” - necessary for travel abroad in Argentina - is down and does not allow users to complete it.

As this medium was able to verify at the time of writing this article, it is possible to enter the website, fill in the required fields and accept the conditions but the system will not process the request and will display an error message on the screen with the caption “We couldn't send the mail, please try again” .

“Good morning, indicate how to proceed. Inability to make DDJJ, error message on website. Urgent, flight is tomorrow 23 March. Impossible to communicate by phone c/migrations, Nor does it c/Argentine consulate in London”, said one Twitter user echoing many others. “The DDJJ ELECTRONICA charging does not work, my flight leaves today and I need to be told how to proceed. Thank you”, asked another user with the urgency that her journey begins this very day.

The document in question is of declarative order and serves to ensure that all Argentines who leave the country are aware of and accept the current health measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic. When completing the DDJJ, it is necessary to sign the conditions that specify that it is known and that “the health, legal and economic consequences” that may apply to a traveler who does not respect the established conditions are accepted, namely:

In summary, this is the affidavit through which Argentines declare that they agree and are aware of the possible changes that may occur in the regulations when traveling around the world in a pandemic context. Such was the case of those stranded in Miami in the middle of last year who were unable to return to the country as a result of the worsening health crisis that occurred at that time.

Despite the problem that the Migration website is presenting, sources from the institution told Infobae that the system will be back up and running in about half an hour. The error of the site is explained by the storm that took place last night in the City of Buenos Aires, which caused some “fabrics and tarpaulins” to come loose on the roof of the building located at 1355 Antarctica Argentina Avenue, and covered the computer server's cooling system, causing the device to shut down preventively to safeguarding stored data.

In turn, they clarified that all airlines were notified to allow the boarding of passengers who have not been able to complete the Affidavit due to the problem, while in land safe corridors this does not affect, since the system is different.

However, as already mentioned, the sources of Migrations said that the problem has already been solved and that the affidavits can be made without problems within about half an hour.
