The creator of the original Mass Effect trilogy and former director of BioWare, Casey Hudson, surprised with the announcement that his new studio was taking care of a new cross-platform AAA project that takes place in a new sci-fi universe.
His new team is called Humanoid Studios, with which he published on his new page that the video game intends to create a new narrative that focuses on the stories of characters trying to navigate a futuristic reality.
“By combining excellence in the arts with innovative technologies, video games have the extraordinary power to transport us to new worlds of adventure. That's what inspired me to make video games and it's at the heart of everything we do at Humanoid Studios,” Hudson wrote as a statement of intent at his new company.
Although it is not yet known in depth what this project is about, the company already has 20 employees registered on Linkedin and 14 offers for new positions. A series of galactic concept arts have also been published on the company's website that it is not yet known if they are involved with the project.
Humanoid Studios is a company located in Canada and offers the possibility of working remotely for all who wish to participate in your company. “We are looking for talented, creative, friendly developers who are eager to participate with ideas that generate value,” they published along with their invitation to join this new adventure universe.
The company was founded in June 2021, after Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah (responsible for the Mass Effect and Dragon Age trilogy) announced their retirement from BioWare. “It was not an easy decision to make and big changes are always made with some degree of sadness. I will miss coming to work every day and meeting inspiring developers and huge projects. But I know it's time for change, for me and for BioWare,” Hudson wrote in their joint farewell.
