Why Karol Sevilla almost ran out of starring in “Soy Luna”

The actress explained that in order to get the role of “Luna Valente” she previously had to reject a project within “The Lord of the Skies”

The young Mexican interpreter Karol Sevilla, recalled during the most recent broadcast of Yordi Rosado's talk show when she almost lost her role in Soy Luna, thanks to the rejection of one of its representatives.

It was during the broadcast of La Entrevista with Yordi Rosado, where the historian also revealed that one of her collaborators endangered the most important protagonist of her career.

As told by the current partner of Emilio Osorio, who began his career at the age of six, when he told this person that he had been chosen to star in the project , which was filmed in Argentina, refused to give him his passport.

“Before I traveled, I had a very big problem traveling and I was nothing short of running out of a project. I had a manager who made me laugh completely. I told him to return my passport to go and record in Argentina, to go do the Disney project, and he said no,” he argued.

However, and to her surprise, that was not the only thing her then manager did against her; and she later explained that she broke her passport in her face and told her that she could not go elsewhere and tried to undermine her success in the Disney project.

“He told me that he was not going to return it and broke my passport in my face and also that 'You are not going to leave La Rosa de Guadalupe and your 500-peso works. You're not leaving, you're going to do anything without me '”, recalled the Mexican historist about what her then manager told her.

However, the problem was solved thanks to the fact that he was allowed to take out his passport again thanks to a Foreign Affairs (SRE) official. In the end, the then 15-year-old was able to travel to Argentina to star in this project that she herself defines as “the most important of her career”.

It should be noted that the performer, prior to recounting her experience that almost caused her to lose the Disney project, explained that in order to stay in the casting of Soy Luna she had to refuse the production of the Lord of the Heavens.

“I had cast for the Lord of the Skies, then I had already stayed, I was going to play the role of the president's daughter or something and I was three days away from signing the contract and for this I found out about this Disney project,” he recalled.

He also deepened that throughout his career, several of the managers he hired have stolen money from him, tried to deceive her and even tried to cut her way short, but the support of her mother was essential in making Soy Luna's decision.

“My mom tells me that a casting call for Disney had just arrived [...] My mom always tries to put my feet on the ground and says to me 'You already have the casting for the Lord of the heavens project and here she barely has to cast, you may or may not be left, 'and I decided to go for the Disney one,” added the performer who gave life to Luna Valente.
