The Portuguese national team, which has been meeting from this Monday near Lisbon to prepare Thursday's match against Turkey in the semifinals of the playoff for the 2022 World Cup, will not be able to count on midfielder Ruben Neves, who was injured this weekend playing with his club, Wolverhampton.

Vitinha, 22 years old and who is highlighting this year with Porto, is his substitute on the list and could therefore make his debut with the senior team, announced the Portuguese Football Federation on its website.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates begin their preparation concentration with a training session on Monday afternoon at the center of the federation in Oeiras, on the western outskirts of Lisbon.

Portugal will face Turkey in Porto, on Thursday in the semifinals. If he manages to win, he will play on March 29, again in Porto, the final of the repechage, against Italy or North Macedonia.

The Portuguese national team has participated in all the major international events organized since the Eurocopa-2000. The last one he didn't get a ticket for was the World Cup-1998.
