Professional ID: requirements, cost and how to carry out the procedure online or in person

The document proves that the profession can be practiced legally and has different payment of fees according to the educational level, whether it is a bachelor's degree or technical level.

The professional certificate is a document issued by the General Directorate of Professions which functions as identification to legally carry out all professional activities.

People who graduated from a technical career or a bachelor's degree can obtain their professional certificate after they have been issued their professional degree. The document can be processed in person or online.

Steps to register the title and obtain the professional ID

* To carry out the face-to-face procedure, the payment of fees must be made through the portal http://www.sep.gob.mx/work/appsite/e5_ene12/dpa/hojaayuda.html?institucion=dpa.

* Inside you must enter your personal information such as name, CURP and select whether you are a natural or legal person.

* The professional certificate of technical level has a cost of 452 pesos.

* To receive the Higher Technical University level, the amount of 508 pesos must be paid.

* The payment of professional licence fees at the bachelor's level is 508 pesos.

* In addition, the amount of 14 pesos must be covered for official copies of each of the documents.

* After you have made the payment of fees, you will provide a payment key, which must be entered into the Internet Portal https://sirepve.sep.gob.mx/validacionelectronica/publico/initCapturaSolicitud! * On the day of the appointment you must bring the following documentation:

* The procedure must be concluded at Viaducto Rio de Piedad, Jardín Balbuena, Mayor's Office Venustiano Carranza, Postal Code 15900, Mexico City, its opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

How to carry out the procedure online?

* Those who are interested in carrying out their procedure virtually must confirm that their degree was issued before October 1, 2018.

What are the documents they ask for?

* The Unique Population Registration Key (CURP) which can be downloaded in its most recent format at https://www.gob.mx/curp/.

* The e-signature or electronic signature issued by the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

* A credit or debit card to give the amount corresponding to the entitlements through the Payments of Rights Portal.

* Please note that payment must be made 72 hours in advance before going to the appointment.

* The tolerance of each appointment is only five minutes, if you cannot attend you must cancel it.
