The situation of Pedro Castillo's nephews is beginning to get complicated, especially after the request of the prosecutor Karla Zecerrano to impose an impediment to leave the country Friar Vasquez Castillo, Gian Marco Castillo and Rudbel Oblitas. This measure would allow the investigation being conducted against them to continue to proceed without major problems. The decision whether or not to accept the request will be in the hands of Judge Manuel Antonio Chuyo Zavaleta.
The nephews of the head of State are investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office for the alleged unlawful acts in the decentralized Provias decision to declare winner of the Puente Tarata II consortium of the good pro for the construction of a bridge over the Huallaga river in the San Martín region. According to the testimony of the questioned businesswoman Karelim López, those close to Pedro Castillo had intervened to favor entrepreneurs through various public entities.
On Wednesday, March 30, there will be a hearing in which prosecutor Zecerrano will present the arguments that motivated the aforementioned request in order for Judge Chuyo to make a final decision. The Office of the Prosecutor has requested an impediment to leave the country for five months. Vasquez, Castillo and Oblitas are joined by three Provias managers identified as Victor Valdivia, Edgar Vargas and Alcides Villafuerte.
The list submitted by the prosecutor also included real estate entrepreneur Marco Antonio Zamir Villaverde García. In his statements to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Karelim López identified the businessman as the cashier of a mafia entrenched in the Ministry of Transport and Communications that would be made up of President Castillo himself.
Villaverde “paved the way to put senior officials” in the MTC. “He carried the curricula of those who were going to occupy positions in that entity”, including the director of Provías Decentralized. He also changed several managers of Decentralized and National Provías. “I saw everything with the Minister of Transport, Juan Silva, who is immovable, because he is a close friend of Pedro Castillo,” were López's statements to the authorities during her attempt to become an effective collaborator.
FAMILY CIRCLE
The names of Fray Vasquez Castillo, Gian Marco Castillo and Rudbel Oblitas did not sound during the presidential campaign, but they were important during Pedro Castillo's attempt to win the presidency. They soon attracted attention due to their constant visits to the house in Jiron Sarratea where the president attended with the same regularity. It is believed that informal meetings had been held at that home, of which there was no record of the treaty so far.
As part of the investigation carried out against the nephews of the head of state, the money-laundering prosecutor's office raided a house that was linked to them; however, days ago they had left the apartment they had been renting for months. At the end of the stage, hard drives were seized from the building where the arrivals and departures of the condominium located on Avenida Brasil in the Magdalena district are recorded.
“They are like the key that opens the access door to the president. Their role is to allow access to the president to apparently build these illicit businesses in the MTC and the Ministry of Housing,” said Karelim López's lawyer, César Nakazaki, a few days ago, about the participation and influence of the relatives of the president of the republic.
