If you are going for a bike path this Monday holiday in Bogotá, know the changes in the routes

An essential plan for the inhabitants of the Colombian capital who stayed at home this festive bridge is to go out on the bike path; whether for sport or fun, this activity has become one of the favorites on rest days. That is why the District Institute of Recreation and Sports, IDRD, informed the citizens important information about its operation this Monday, March 21.

Among the announcements it became known that there will be a change in the traditional cycle path routes for this weekend, when the service will once again be available to all users after the legislative elections of March 13. This is how the road of the cycle path of Boyacá Avenue with carrera 24 (Corner of Tunal Park) to the south, at the height of the La Aurora neighborhood, will be suspended due to the return plan of the travelers of the festive bridge of the festival of the San José festival.

Also, the section of the Fifth race will be suspended and will be enabled for the seventh race between 26th Street and Seventh Street. In addition, IDRD assured that the section of Calle 72, between Carrera 13 and Caracas Avenue, may be affected this weekend by the works being carried out there; in this regard, it invited citizens to be aware of the authorities' social networks where they will be informed about possible detours.

The District also pointed out that the service will be available will be normal; that is, between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. It should be recalled that the bike path is enabled every Sunday and public holidays of the year on the main roads of the city that are interconnected in a circuit of 127.69 kilometers in length, of the which is 7.05 km of cycling route.

Similarly, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá released the following biosafety recommendations for citizens who wish to participate in this space, which we share below:

-Keep a safe distance between people 2 meters is recommended.

-Do proper and constant hand washing.

Don't leave your house if you have the flu or cough.

-Don't drink drinks from the same container as other people.

-When coughing or sneezing cover your mouth or nose with your forearm.

This holiday Monday will also apply the Pico y Placa Regional in the nine corridors entering Bogotá. From 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. vehicles with even license plates will be able to enter. From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. those whose badge ends in an odd number will enter.

These are the routes with Pico and Placa Regional:

-North Highway: from the Andes toll to the north portal of the TransMilenio system, north/south

-Highway Sur: from the municipal boundary of Soacha to Boyacá Avenue, south/north

-Centenario Avenue (13th Street): from the Bogotá River to the Ciudad de Cali Avenue (Carrera Avenue 86), in the west-east direction

-80th Street Avenue: from the Guadua bridge to the 80th portal of the TransMilenio system, in the west-east direction

-Avenida Carrera 7: from 245th Street to 183rd Street, north/south

-Boyacá Avenue via al Llano: from the Algerian Durán Quintero tunnel to the old road to the Llano, south/north direction

-Via Suba Cota: from the Bogotá River to Av. 170 street, north/south direction

-Via la Calera: from Patios toll to carrera 7 avenue, east-west direction

-Via to Choachí: from the road to Monserrate to the Circunvalar avenue, in the east-west direction
