The Mediapro Studio, a company that distributes rights to more than 260 audiovisual formats and works on the international market, announced the incorporation of Catalina Porto Urdaneta as its new director of content for Colombia and Mexico, two strategic points in the continent for the industry.
Regarding her arrival at this company and the beginning of a new professional stage, the lawyer by profession said that she aspires to capitalize on her experience in producing content for the markets of these two countries.
It is important to mention that for more than a decade, Porto Urdaneta joined Caracol Televisión to serve as executive producer of series, among which titles such as Always Bruja, Chichipatos, The Queen of the Indies and the Conqueror, A Grito Wounded and Rhythm Savage stood out.
Later, she led the channel's commitment to Mexico's expansion as president of Caracol Estudios México and was the producer of El rey, a series that tells the story of the life of the late singer Vicente Fernández.
Catalina Porto's experience also highlights her work at RTI Producciones, a company created through a strategic alliance between Colombian network RTI and NBC Universal and Telemundo.
Likewise, she worked as a senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright Colombia, specializing in telecommunications, entertainment, media and technology; and was legally responsible for the newspaper El Tiempo, TigoUne (Millicom International) and Claro Colombia.
It should be remembered that The Mediapro Studio has been involved for 25 years in the creation, production and distribution of content for all genres of television and film, thus consolidating its position as a leader in the audiovisual production market in Europe and America.
In addition, they have made great content with great national and international prestige. They worked with personalities such as Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris), Borja Cobeaga (Eight Basque surnames), Iván Escobar (Vis a Vis), Fernando González Molina (Three meters above the sky) and Gastón Duprat (The Illustrious Citizen), among others.
The reward for Mediapro came from both the public and the numerous international prizes that his productions have won, including two Oscars, two Golden Globes and multiple Goya awards.
