Barça seeks new success against Real Madrid in the women's Champions League

After the 4-0 triumph won by their men's team on Sunday in Spanish LaLiga, Barcelona will try another success as a visitor to Real Madrid on Tuesday, in that case in the first leg of the women's champions league quarterfinals.

The Barça players, current European champions, are favorites in that crossing that does not yet have the category of 'Classic' that they can have in men's football. In the women's league, two weeks ago, Barça endorsed a 5-0 to Real Madrid, with a double from their Ballon d'Or Alexia Putellas.

After recently proclaiming themselves champions of the Spanish League for the third consecutive season, the Barcelona players have the Champions League, whose final will be in May in Turin, as their main goal of the rest of the year.

Although Tuesday's match will be played at the small Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium, in the Real Madrid training center on the outskirts of the Spanish capital, the second leg, on March 30, is scheduled at the immense Camp Nou, where an attendance record will be sought for a professional women's team match, which until now is 60,739 spectators (in March 2019, at an Atlético de Madrid-Barcelona at the Metropolitano).

In the other quarter-final qualifiers of the women's Champions League, French Lyon, who holds the record for titles in the competition with seven, faces Italian Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain visit Bayern Munich on Tuesday for a duel between two teams that were semi-finalists in the women's Champions League last year.

The setting for that match will be a majestic venue, the Allianz Arena, which will open its doors to the women's section of Bayern for the first time.

PSG impressed in the group stage, with six wins in six matches, 25 goals for and none against.

The other quarter-round tie pits English Arsenal against German Wolfsburg.
