An American tourist praised Argentina's public transport and a former official invited him to tour the City by bicycle

Vadim Graboys is a young American who became a trend on social media, after a message from him praising the public transport system in the City of Buenos Aires went viral on Twitter.

Just two days after arriving in Argentina, the American, a native of San Francisco and a regular traveler, as can be seen in his profile, has already made a series of positive comments about what life is like in Buenos Aires.

One night, the tourist wrote: “I took a bus. There is no shelter, but it is one of the best bus stop signs I've seen anywhere,” he explained, along with a photo of an exposed pole with signs for lines 109 and 111.

In just a few hours, the comment went viral and had already accumulated more than 8,000 likes, well above the average of his other comments, which until then reached tens or at most hundreds of likes.

The followers of the American user were also surprised to see the signage system used in Buenos Aires, where at the stops there are signs indicating the route taken by each of the bus lines that stop there.

“It tells you very clearly which buses stop here and some of the main stops along your routes. And parking is not allowed at the bus stop. San Francisco has a lot to learn,” said the young foreigner.

In addition, after his photo was circulated on social media, Graboys gained new local followers, some of whom he is even “giving advice” about public transportation.

“I told some guys I just met that I went viral on Twitter after tweeting about finding a SUBE card, and they couldn't believe it. 'Where did you find a SUBE! card? ' , they both asked, 'Have we been looking for months!? '” , he said.

However, this is not the only subject that the traveler writes in his personal account, but also recounts other pleasant experiences he had in the country: “We just received a delicious steak dinner for 2 in a good restaurant, with another meat main course, a huge salad and a huge and delicious tiramisu, plus 2 drinks... for $35, including the tip,” he said, surprised at how cheap the food is by converting its price into dollars.

The next day, Graboys recounted his experience of traveling for the first time in the Metrobùs lane, exclusively for groups, and assured that “there is nothing like this either in New York or in San Francisco, where buses get stuck in traffic everywhere”.

It was then that he received the unexpected response from a former official, Guillermo Dietrich, who was in charge of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport and the Nation: “Dear Vadim, thank you for your tweets about our BRT (Metrobus) system. You seem very interested in our transportation system. I would like to invite you to tour the city by bicycle and exchange some ideas. Would you do it?” , proposed to him by the leader of the PRO.

After a while, the American boy replied that he would “love” to have that experience and asked Dietrich to write to him “by direct message to coordinate”.

He also answered questions from other users who asked him about other ways to get around Buenos Aires, explaining that when he arrived at the airport, he took a car to the hotel because it was late and he had luggage with him, but he argued that he now prefers to “take public transport whenever possible”, because “it is better for the environment environment and for the city”.
