AMLO mocked Chumel Torres for doubting the works of AIFA: “Pity Chumel”

Minutes before its inauguration, from Felipe Ángeles Airport, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with a “proud” stance, responded to comments posted on social networks by the influencer, Chumel Torres.

In the course of the morning report, the president referred to the journalist as “an alleged candidate of the conservative bloc by 2024″. In this way, with a proud look and a smiling face, the president said: “Humor also makes sense, because you don't have to get angry.”

He immediately claimed that Chumel had derogingly referred to the port as “airplane power station”. He later said that the guests at the inauguration and all Mexicans will be able to see if AIFA is really what the youtuber said.

“What is really important is that the AIFA belongs to the people and it is the one who does the scrutiny, the one who qualifies and the one who commands,” AMLO agreed.

In his presentation, several tweets made by Torres were presented which said: “I want our love to be like the airport in Santa Lucia and never end” and “Ugly, expensive, old, far away. With no more than ten flights” referring to the AIFA project.

Obrador recalled that in previous years, during the construction of the second floor in the peripheral ring, a project that connects the Southeast with the Northwest of Mexico City, he also received a lot of criticism from his opponents, stating that “construction was going to fall”, however, this did not stop the plan and to date he is in operation.

“It has received tremors, it is well done, it is a work that was done throughout the country because it helps a lot, especially to expand the rolling surface,” commented the Mexican leader.

He continuously shared another tweet, as he expressed Chumel's opinion regarding the three main projects promoted by the AMLO government: “The only good thing about the incompetence of Q4 is that neither Dos Bocas, nor his ugly train, nor the airplane plant will ever end”, it was read.

As a comment, Andrés Manuel mentioned the importance of the three main projects of the fourth transformation that will be inaugurated in the near future, such as “The Mayan Train”, which will cover a distance of approximately 1,500 km and pass through the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, and The “Dos Bocas” Refinery project that seeks to increase the production of gasoline and diesel.

Finally, the president stated that no credits or concessions have been requested, he commented that all these projects have been financed from the public budget apart from the fact that the material has been purchased from Mexican companies.

José Manuel Torres Morales, better known as “Chumel Torres” is a Mexican presenter, comedian and youtuber who is recognized for his participation in the internet program El Pulso de la República, a political criticism platform that currently has 7.1 million subscribers and more than half a million followers on Twitter.

After the president and producer Epigmenio Ibarra published the documentary about the progress of Felipe Angeles Airport, the journalist posted a tweet, where he selected a portion of the video and made a “sarcastic” comment.

For a couple of months now, the comedian has been spreading “sarcastic” comments on social networks about the design and construction of Felipe Angeles Airport. This project has been one of the most important developments by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during his six-year presidential term.
