Today the India Catalina Awards are presented: meet the nominees and vote for your favorites

Today, Sunday, March 20, in Cartagena, the India Catalina awards ceremony will be held. The ceremony, in its 38th edition, is dedicated to recognizing and highlighting the best audiovisual productions made in the country in the last year. On this occasion, names from series such as La Reina del Flow and Mil Fangs stand out, as well as competition programs such as the X Factor, The Voice and The Challenge. These awards are awarded taking into account the vote of spectators and industry experts.

To vote for the favorite candidates to win each of the awards, it is noted from the organization, that it is necessary to go to the website of the India Catalina Awards. There, a brief registration will be required to access the voting room.

The statuettes that the winners will take with them, the manager of the Grabar company, Indira Durán, explained to Agencia EFE. The structures were made with shells from those of bullets fired by the Colombian Police. This, the expert explained, is a symbol of “peace and reconciliation”.

“The dream stems from the fact that not only does a weapon serve to kill, but it also serves to inspire cinema, culture and theater (...) great thinkers about peace, about the (peace) agreement and this was developed with a material that when used in bullets can take a person's life,” he said. 41 Indias Catalina were made, detailed the specialist, and were manufactured with about 1,500 bullet casings.
