On the eve of the inauguration of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) in Santa Lucia, the term “Felipe Calderón Airport” was once again seen among the first trends in Twitter Mexico.
This, following the publication of a tweet that Francisco Arrubarrena, former Technical Secretary of the Board of Directors at Mexico Diálogos, launched amid the wave of attacks towards the Mega-Project of the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
Along these lines, on March 19, Arrubarrena shared a post comparing the alleged costs of a trip from Satellite to AIFA and another to Mexico City International Airport (AICM) through the private transport application, Uber.
In this way, the lawyer also obtained a notable difference in prices, since the trip to the capital's port resulted in almost 270 pesos, while that of Santa Lucia would cost more than three thousand pesos.
However, it was the users of the same social network who were responsible for denying his accusation after realizing that he had quoted a trip to an alleged Felipe Calderón Airport in Hidalgo, instead of Felipe Ángeles in the State of Mexico (Edomex).
“They are sending it almost to San Luis Potosí”, “Stop misinforming”, “You put a destination practically in the tourist area of the mountain”, was read in some of the more than three thousand comments and 900 quoted tweets that the publication obtained.
The destination to which the mobility app directed Arrubarrena is located in the municipality of Molango de Escamilla, in Hidalgo, which corresponds to a semi-dirt road near the Molango Aerodrome, as reflected in Google Maps.
The fragment, located between Emiliano Zapata and Francisco Vargas streets, belongs to the town of San Miguel, almost an hour - by car - from Calnali and Tlanchinol, two of the ten municipalities that make up the Huasteca Hidalguense.
Despite the calls for attention due to this error, for the realization of this note the tweet continues to be published on Arrubanera's profile and, even, retweeted the publication mocking it to monetize it to “finance an Uber”.
How much is an Uber trip to AIFA?
As a result of the publication, several twitterers carried out the exercise of quoting a trip on that application to the airport of Santa Lucia, with which, in the same way, they were able to contradict Francisco Arrubarrena.
On the one hand, some people showed that the trip to AIFA is between 250 and 450 pesos depending on the initial location. While others said that the app doesn't even offer a direct route, but to a nearby location or, failing that, opting to combine this service with some alternative public transport.
According to an exercise carried out by Infobae Mexico, a trip to Felipe Ángeles, quoted at 07:30 on a Sunday and from eastern Mexico City (CDMX), would cost around 300 pesos with the UberX Promo option.
It should be noted that - for the realization of this note - if the user searches for the site as “Felipe Angeles Airport” the address given in the application will be that of the “Military Air Base No. 1″ on Santa Lucia Avenue, in Zumpango de Ocampo. Meanwhile, if you type “AIFA”, “AIFA International Airport Felipe Ángeles” will be displayed with address of Ferrocarril Hidalgo Avenue.
Despite this, both options lead to the same correct destination. However, cost information may vary depending on the day, service and time when the service is requested.
