DACA, Bangladesh (AP) — Rescue agencies recovered six bodies after a cargo ship collided with a ferry on a river near the Bangladeshi capital, officials and survivors reported.
The event took place in Narayanganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
It was not immediately clear how many people are missing.
Rozina Akhter, a rescue service official, said it was not known how many people were on the ferry. The local press reported that there were between 30 and 50 people.
Ferry accidents are common in Bangladesh, mainly due to mishandling of ships or failure to comply with regulations.
