María Fernanda Cabal denounced the absence of votes for her with inconsistent forms in favor of the Democratic Center

The senator argues that the irregularities resemble electoral fraud that would benefit, according to her, sectors of the left

Complaints about irregularities in the pre-count and E-14 registrar's forms in the legislative elections of March 13 continue, one week after the count. Even the governing party, Centro Democrático, has joined the criticism with the possibility raised by its leader of not knowing the results.

One of the complainants in that sector was María Fernanda Cabal, the second most voted senator for Congress, who shared through social media several pre-count forms that would be evidence of inconsistencies in the vote count for her party.

The senator asked the supporters to search for the record of their votes on the Registrar's website and received several complaints in her e-mail. However, a peculiarity is that in the majority, more total votes had been added than those recorded individually for each option.

“We are going to report electoral fraud, posting what they sent us to the #BuscaTuVoto email. If we don't protect our democracy, we will also lose our freedom,” wrote the re-elected senator.

The first form corresponded to the 10th table of the 3rd place in Barrancabermeja, in which 15 votes were added in total by different candidates to the Senate, but the total vote box indicated 20. However, the Registrar's form shows 11 and no longer contains the page displayed by Senator Cabal.

At table 296 of Corferias in Bogotá, another of those put forward by the senator, there were also 4 votes for the list of the Democratic Center, another 6 by Miguel Uribe Turbay and another for the 34th place for a total of 11 votes, but that was 13, that is, 2 more. The document now states that there were 13 votes.

In Barranquilla, at table 7 of the 2nd place in the area, as it showed, 25 individual votes were recorded for the list, but in the total 40 votes were recorded. The same in table 1 of the 2nd place in zone 28 of Valle del Cauca, which added 10 more individual votes to the 13 individual votes and 23 were recorded in total.

At least 23 other forms published by the senator had inconsistencies in which fewer votes were recorded than the total sum, in some cases even several dozen. Others who did not register votes, a few in which they appeared less in total than preferred and some with boxes not crossed out.

Although in some cases, the polling place does not correspond to that registered by the electoral authority, such as seat 2 in zone 27 of Medellín, which according to the image of the senator corresponds to the Marymount college, but it really belongs to INEM José Félix.

These forms have already been modified on the disclosure page of the Registrar's Office and the one for the Democratic Center does not appear, because the counting would have confirmed new results for the Senate of the Republic.

With these certificates, Cabal's intention was to show citizens who voted for her and their votes did not appear on the E-14 of her post, but several noted that they agreed on a sum that benefited the party with more votes than apparently recorded.

The senator, in a statement issued this Saturday, said that it is an electoral fraud in the country, which she said would be “sponsored by the left and financed by drug trafficking.” According to her, it resembles the 2019 elections in Bolivia and those held in Peru, which would now be in Colombia benefiting Gustavo Petro through the Sao Paulo Forum.

“Failures must be corrected by hiring independent companies to carry out a forensic analysis of the results of the congressional elections, and even more, it is urgent and necessary to hire, with the collaboration of other parties, a company that will carry out a real-time audit, so that on Sunday, May 29, all Colombians we are going to vote with confidence, and in this way defeat the candidate of drug trafficking and the Sao Paulo Forum,” Cabal said.

David Luna, Radical Change and other parties have also called for new scrutiny, because the results benefited the Historical Pact with 3 more seats in the Senate, which in turn held seats between the Democratic Center and the Esperanza Center Coalition.
