This Sunday, the Enel X Night Race 10K will be held and it will be the first face-to-face athletic event to be held in the city of Bogotá in the 2022 season, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park. The event traditionally known as the night race, will open the calendar of the Colombian Athletics and Runners Federation of Colombia in the capital of the country.

The chosen quota for the return to the streets is 4,000 runners aged 16 and older, on a route that will cover the interior of the Simon Bolivar Metropolitan Park and some roads such as race 60, 53rd street and 44th street.

For its part, the District Secretariat for Mobility (SDM) authorized some road closures, among which are: the western and eastern roads of Carrera 60 between Calle 63 Avenue and Calle 26; north side Calle 53 Avenue between Carrera 60 Avenue and Carrera 68 Avenue; north of Calle 44 between Carrera 60 Avenue and Carrera 50 Avenue.

The entity authorized some detours, for example, for users traveling on Carrera 60 Avenue in the North-South direction, they must take Av. Calle 63 to the West, Carrera 68 Avenue to the South or Calle 63 to the East - Av. NQS to the South.

Also those who go in the East - West direction on Calle 53, can continue on Carrera 60 Avenue to the North - Av. 63 to the West. Likewise, in the direction East - West on Calle 63 Avenue and those who wish to take Carrera 60 Avenue to the south, the option is to go along Calle 63 Avenue - Carrera 68 Avenue to the south

Likewise, vehicles moving in a south/north direction along Carrera 68 avenue and want to take Calle 53 al Oriente avenue may continue on Carrera 68 al Norte avenue and Calle 63 al Oriente

The Secretariat gave some recommendations for the event, one of them for those attending the activity, who recommended arriving at the venue, preferably at SITP or Transmilenio; it is suggested to avoid using private vehicles.

“Schedule trips and activities on Sunday in the sectors affected by the development of the activity and follow the instructions by the Transit Authority, staff of the organization and the District Secretariat for Mobility on the affected roads in order to minimize the impact that the activity may have on the city of Bogotá”, reported the Ministry of Mobility.

And there is also the call to attend to the signage that the event organization will have to inform the road closures and diversions to be carried out for the development of the activity and to make use of non-motorized modes of transport such as bicycle and on foot, as well as mass transport and public transport.

Finally, it should be noted that Carlos Mario Restrepo, head of Enel X Colombia, said that “Enel X joins the Night Race initiative for the second year, which this time returns to its face-to-face edition, because we want to continue lighting Colombian streets with the best energy and promote actions that represent well-being for the citizens. At Enel X, we work to make cities more sustainable, intelligent and agile spaces, and that is why we are excited to be part of this initiative that returns to asphalt and that will energize the night in Bogotá.”
