Two members of the police were shot dead, one of them was active, while the other was already being retired. The cause of these deaths was a merchant who transported 10,000 soles to a bank branch in La Victoria.
One of the robbers was caught the same day, another was arrested this morning by agents of the Homicide Division led by Colonel Victor Revoredo.
This is Oscar José Cáceres Martínez, a 23-year-old Venezuelan citizen. This guy would be the one who shot directly at third-ranked NCO Luis Miguel Vergara Pajuelo and senior petty officer Ricardo Félix Morales Gallardo.
The crime was perpetrated last March 15, in broad daylight and in the presence of several neighbors who were at risk of dying during the shooting.
As the police were able to rebuild, that afternoon the aggravated robbery with subsequent death occurred at the intersection of Fermín Tangüis shred with Francisco Graña. The troops were travelling in the ADJ-275 license plate car as a pilot and co-driver.
On the back was Miguel Ángel Quichua, who carried the 10,000 soles he had withdrawn from a company to a banking institution. During the shooting, when he was cornered, he threw away the money in order to avoid a tragedy, but it was too late. The cops had been killed. The investigations were taken over by the Homicide Division.
On the same day of the criminal act, Ángel Bladimir Barrientos Meneses, alias, 'Angelito 'was intervened by agents of the Cobra Platoon of the Emergency Squadron, when he escaped wounded by the shredder Antonio Guerra. His accomplices had abandoned him. The subject, in desperation, threw a Glock pistol, which was found in the garden of a house.
THE 'NEGRITO' FALLS
During the investigations, Homicide Division agents confirmed that Venezuelan Oscar José Cáceres Martínez, alias, 'Negrito', was the one who had shot the cops. This morning, at 3.20 a.m., he was arrested in front of the house of La Victoria. That neighborhood was surrounded by the possibility of a new shooting and there he was arrested in possession of drugs. I was going for another blow.
“The old men (from La Victoria) called the 'Negrito' and this one passed the voice to me. We came from Independencia and met in Metro de la Plaza Manco Capac. We went in six. Two on each linear motorcycle, and the others in a minivan. They told us there was money. The one who started shooting was the 'Negrito', I shot at the rim. The target was the money that was in the car)”, 'Angelito' confessed after giving up his accomplice.
OFFENDER ROBS POLICE AND ENDS UP CRYING
On March 16, a criminal did everything to avoid being transferred to the police station. This Wednesday, in the morning hours, they captured a thug who took the wallet of a policeman in Los Olivos. The subject intercepted his victim and snatched his belongings when he was waiting for a bus in the Santa Elvira area.
According to the injured person, the residents of the place helped him intervene with the evildoer, who responds to the name of César Meléndez. After this, the uniformed men arrived and framed him to take him to the police command. Faced with this, the criminal began to apologize and even excused himself by saying that he does so because he does not have “to eat” and Oscar Cáceres Martínez was arrested by agents of the Homicide Division. He shot the troops to steal 10,000 soles from a merchant in La Victoria. which is the first time.” The victim of the robbery heard the laments; however, he ignored and asked for the greatest sanction for the thug, who was captured after running for several blocks.
