The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez defined as “one of the biggest falls” of his career that he suffered this Sunday at the Mandalika circuit and which prevented him from taking part in the second race of the season.
“What can I say? It wasn't our weekend, we struggled and had problems from the start,” said the six-time world champion of the premier category of motorcycling in a statement released by his Repsol Honda team.
“It was quite a sharp drop in this morning's Warm Up, perhaps one of the biggest I've ever had,” admitted Márquez, who was visibly stunned had to be taken to a hospital and could not run the Grand Prix, won by the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira.
“I went to the local hospital and, although there are no serious problems, it has been decided that I shouldn't run. Of course it's a shame, but it's the best decision,” Marquez concluded.
