Houston shooting leaves one dead, three injured

HOUSTON (AP) — A 17-year-old was killed and three other teenagers were injured early Sunday when a shooting broke out after a fight in a parking lot in Houston during a birthday party, officials said.

The injured are two 17-year-old males and one 14-year-old female, Harris County police reported.

At the moment there are no identified suspects and the reason for the fight is unknown, police said.

One of the 17-year-old boys was hospitalized in critical condition and the other was discharged with minor injuries, authorities added.

The 14-year-old girl was treated in the hospital but her injuries were not serious.

A birthday party was being held for a 16-year-old girl in a nearby studio, when the brawl broke out in the parking lot, police said.

He added that after the shooting the officers found multiple bullet helmets in the parking lot.

The 17-year-old who was discharged was later arrested because he had against him an arrest warrant for robbery unrelated to this incident, police said.
