Esmeralda Pimentel revealed that during her years as a star of soap operas she was very well received by the public, however, her successes made her unhappy and she decided to move away from such productions to seek her true happiness as an actress.
In 2009 Esmeralda Pimentel began her career on Televisa with the melodrama Summer of Love, from then until 2018 she devoted herself almost entirely to telenovelas, with very few opportunities to exploit her talent in film or theater, which is why she decided to put these types of projects second and put these types of projects first those he was passionate about, he recounted in the podcast Covert by Juan Colucho.
And it is that, as the protagonist of Ahí te entrasto recalled, starting with her debut soap opera, she was offered several roles in others, but it came to the point where it was more an order than an invitation. The fact that she did one project after another made her stop wondering if she really wanted to continue acting for melodramas.
“From there (their first soap opera) they started talking to me another and another and another and another and another, and I feel like I started to enter this path where you don't even decide anymore, it's like 'hey i love you in this, i love you in another' and you start to enter like a stream, in which I stopped questioning things or why or why”, he began his explanation.
The success he had on television was evident, people realized his talent and applauded him, which might seem like any artist's dream, but, at least for Esmeralda, it wasn't. Once she became one of Televisa's favorite talents, she realized that she wasn't really doing what she wanted and was just following orders, so she wasn't happy.
“People recognized me and I began to question 'this doesn't feel good'. People recognize my work, I can already support myself, I have the financial capacity to help my family, I am doing what I love and why am I not happy? Why don't I feel happy? ”
It was then that he finally decided to leave soap operas aside, because his true vocation was found in other types of productions. Pimentel stressed that she was tired of being in a cycle where she started a production, finished it and accepted another, without thinking whether she really wanted to participate in it or not, but she was convinced that she did want to remain part of the entertainment industry.
The protagonist of Enamornado de Ramón decided to venture as a producer, as well as tried her luck abroad. He confessed that only in this way, moving away from soap operas, he managed to find his happiness.
