In December 2021, national media reported the death of Natalia Castillo, a journalist who was murdered in Bogotá after being the victim of a robbery. Although the offenders accused of taking the life of the communicator are already being detained, it was reported that the list of crimes charged was added to a new one. To Javier Enrique Ramírez Gómez alias Porky, according to what was detailed in the hearing held last Saturday, March 19. The man was charged with reception.
According to what the Legal Concepts portal explains, the crime of reception “is based on the act of receiving, acquiring, hiding or taking advantage of the effects of a criminal act. It is carried out for profit and in the knowledge of the previous crime against property or socio-economic order.” This accusation is due to the fact that, at the time of the robbery, the criminals made a transfer of $3 million, one of $5 million 500 thousand. Alias Porky was already accused of aggravated homicide, qualified and aggravated theft and abusive access to a computer system. These crimes were charged to him in February.
“The phones would have been marketed, and through them they would have wanted to carry out transactions in the bank accounts of the victim's companions,” the Prosecutor's Office specified, detailing the reasons for adding one more crime to the list.
For the crime of Natalia Castillo, in addition to the man already mentioned, Ángel Rolando Colina Lugo, alias 'Angelo', is also in detention. The latter was charged with the crimes of aggravated homicide, aggravated and qualified theft, and abusive access to a computer system. On 14 February, both offenders were captured and on 15 February both were sent to jail.
The Attorney General of the nation, Francisco Barbosa, for those days, said that they had managed to find their whereabouts after 49 days of investigative work. After more than a month, the Prosecutor's Office, in an articulated work with the SIJIN of the Bogotá Police, managed to have in its possession the two identified criminals.
“At the request of the Prosecutor's Office, the two foreign citizens who would be involved in the murder and theft received custodial measures in prison,” the prosecutor's report stated. In the middle of the discussion, 121 videos of security cameras located in the sector were taken into account. Likewise, communications interceptions were rescued.
A witness to the homicide told the prosecution that alias Angelo, after the assault on the citizen, said that he had to kill her because she did not want to let go of her cell phone. “A customer approached him to buy a 'leather'. Three boys arrived on Avenida Caracas with Calle 20 and greeted each other with the boy who bought him the 'leather', who call him a monito or his name is monito. They greeted each other with a Venezuelan dialect and one of the men who was dressed in a blue jacket and had a cap said to him: “fag, cattle, but it hit the piroba because he didn't want to hand over the phone to the sides of Galerías,” said who claimed to hear the conversation.
It should be recalled that the woman, who worked as a communications consultant at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), was taken to the Palermo Clinic, was attacked with a firearm. She was 32 years old. In the middle of the struggle to avoid being robbed by the two men, she was shot in the upper left part of her chest. The criminals initially fled on foot, however, then drove away from the crime zone in a gray vehicle.
