In the Grand Final of the RTP Arena Cup, Movistar Riders defeated 00Nation 2-0 (Mirage 16-12; Nuke 16-13) and will play the next BLAST Premier Showdown in the European key.
The team led by the Brazilian coldzera came from beating OFFSET Esports in the semifinals by a comfortable 2-0 (16-14 Inferno; 16-10 Overpass). During the match they were superior and only had problems when it came to closing the maps. For their part, the riders came from a marathon series against the Portuguese team SAW, whom they beat 2-1 with great suffering on the last map (16-2 Overpass, 12-16 Nuke, 22-19 Inferno).
Mirage, elected by the South Americans, opened the meeting. Movistar Riders was firm in defense, mainly with an unstoppable SunPayus with the AWP, which earned them a first half of 12-3. After the change of sides, 00Nation was more orderly as CT and gradually cut the difference. But three rounds in a row won by the Spaniards gave them the first map by 16-10.
The series continued at Nuke, where the South American team started defending and achieved an acceptable 10-5, but things got complicated later. As happened in Mirage, the terrorist side became very complicated and no good attacks were seen. The riders took advantage of this to overcome the result and end the series with a 16-13. SunPayus was undoubtedly the best player in the Bo3, with 53/29 K/D, 84.2% KAST and 94.5 ADR.
In this way, Movistar Riders will participate in the next BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, in which, after the change of format, they will play the European key in search of qualification for the tournament finals.
