Another political storm took public opinion recently. This time it was starred by Senator-elect Jonathan Ferney Pulido Hernández, better known as Jota Pe Hernández, who has not only been a trend because he was the third most voted congressman in the last legislative elections, but also because in the last few hours his previous pronouncements were brought out.
Jota Pe was elected as one of the senators of the Centro Esperanza coalition with Green Alliance, one of the alternative benches in the Colombian political sphere. However, less than five days as a member of Congress, one of his own supporters reminded him that before seeking to become a legislator because of progressivism, he was an admirer of the country's traditional and conservative currents.
Today's' green 'Senator Antonio Sanguino, who burned himself in his attempt to return to the Senate in the next parliamentary term, posted screenshots of Pulido Hernández, who is also an influencer, praising former prosecutor Alejandro Ordóñez, now Colombia's ambassador to the OAS and one of the traditional right-wing figures.
In addition, Sanguino showed other controversial pronouncements by today's senator joining the Green Alliance. In them, he attacks presidential candidate Gustavo Petro, who says that on the day he dies, Colombia “will rest from so much populism and tares.”
There is also another publication in which Pulido is going to launch himself against one of Petro's most faithful followers, actress Margarita Rosa de Francisco, whom today's congressman called a “clown, drug, with an exploded brain”.
Moreover, there is even a publication in which Jota Pe questioned abortion, same-sex marriage, among other positions that in today's sun could be considered “controversial” by several citizens.
All these publications caused Antonio Sanguino to dissociate himself from his co-supporter and say that he does not represent him as a senator of the Green Alliance. “I hope I'm not mistaken, but it will be our Manguito...”, he criticized.
Well, after those controversial pronouncements went viral on social media, the senator-elect spoke out, justified his old ideals and apologized to Gustavo Petro and Margarita Rosa de Francisco.
Through a Twitter video, Pulido said that he regrets being a “uribist” and says that he is sorry that he believed “in a deceiving uribism” and that is why he excused himself for what he thought previously.
The newcomer to politics said he will continue to work against corruption and that he will not be stopped in his new legislative aspiration.
It should be noted that the Bumanguese politician achieved, no less, that the third highest vote in the whole country in the Senate, being surpassed only by Miguel Uribe Turbay and María Fernanda Cabal (from the Democratic Center), and with 98.32% of the polls counted, 'Jota Pe', the number 54 in the Senate by the Green Alliance and Centro Esperanza, won 187. 545 votes, an enviable figure for any applicant.
