Argentine football will live this weekend from March 18 to 20 a new day of classics. Undoubtedly the most anticipated is the Superclassic between River Plate vs. Boca Juniors, scheduled for Sunday 20 at the Monumental Stadium from 5:00 in the afternoon, Colombian time. For the meeting, the sale of the 75,000 ballots was ensured and there will be a police operation of more than 1,600 police officers to guarantee security.

There will be the presence of four Colombian players; River Plate will be Juan Fernando Quintero, who returned to the cross-band team after his adventure for Shenzhen FC in China. The Antioquian will always be remembered by the fans of Núñez for the goal in the final against his classic rival at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid in 2018, which unlocked the match and gave him the fourth Copa Libertadores.

River Plate coach Marcelo Gallardo announced this Friday, two days before the Argentine football superclassic against Boca Juniors, that he will not make changes to the starting lineup and will repeat the team that beat Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata 4-0 last week.

Goalkeeper Franco Armani, defenders Robert Rojas, Paulo Diaz, Leandro González Pirez and Milton Casco, midfielders Enzo Perez, Enzo Fernández and Nicolás de la Cruz, and attackers Santiago Simon, Esequiel Barco and Julián Álvarez will be starting against Xeneize, as Gallardo confirmed at a press conference. Regarding the absence of 'Juanfer' Quintero, the Argentine coach explained the reason for the decision:

On the other sidewalk, Boca Juniors will have three Colombians on the roster of whom two will start against River; Frank Fabra, who again received the call to the Colombia national team for the matches against Bolivia and Venezuela, will be in charge of the right wing in Sebastian Battaglia's team; Meanwhile the call to to unbalance the rival defense will be Sebastián Villa who already knows what it is to score in an Argentine superclassic and has become a benchmark in the 'xeneize' attack. Finally, Jorman Campuzano appears who will have to wait for his chance from the bench of substitutes in the face of the confidence given by the coach to Pol Fernández and the youth Cristian Medina.

The coach of Boca Juniors, Sebastián Battaglia, said this Thursday, three days before the Argentine football superclassic, that Xeneize is “on par” with River Plate and that they will go out to “seek” the victory this Sunday at the Monumental in Buenos Aires:

River Plate, the leader of Zone A with 13 points together with Defensa and Justice and Union, reaches the superclassic with nine goals in favor and none against in the last two matches (5-0 against Laferrere for the thirty-second finals of the Argentine Cup and 4-0 against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata for the League Cup). So far in 2022, the Millionaire lost only one game, 1-0 to Unión de Santa Fe in his debut in the League Cup.

Boca Juniors had a more irregular walk, but last day he beat Estudiantes de La Plata, leader of Zone B, by 0-1 and climbed to third position in his group with 11 points. El Pincha leads with 13 and is followed by two units Colón and Xeneize.
