After having to stop due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this 2022 the V ive Latino will once again have a spectacular edition with all kinds of bands and musical proposals. In this sense, Ramona will be no exception.
And it is that for Jesús Guerrero, vocalist; Mauricio Villicaña, guitar and keyboards; Edgar Moreno, bass and Omar Córdoba on drums, the opportunity to perform at the Carpa VL next Sunday, March 20 at 2:50pm will be a whole new experience.
Exclusively for Infobae Mexico, Jesus, also known to his fans as Chuy, mentioned that since childhood he had the desire to participate in this festival and, even, went so far as to refuse to attend on several occasions.
“I said, 'I'm not going to the Vive until we can play there, '” he said.

However, in 2018, the performer of hits such as Tristes Ojos, Colores, or Go for a Coffee, not knowing that he would soon step on the festival stages, could not resist anymore and attended the event as a spectator to see Chicano Batman.
In 2019, the Tijuana people who make up Ramona toured Mexico with their performances and surprised their followers by giving a free concert at the Glorieta de los Insurgentes in Mexico City in December of that year. This was his last face-to-face concert, prior to the global contingency due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
But this did not stop them, as the vocalist of the band pointed out that - although it was a difficult period for many of the artists who work in the musical field - they found an opportunity to connect with their audience and expand.

Chuy delved into the fact that music is “what keeps them alive” and that - in addition to the support of their fans - was one of the engines that helped them continue to search for various ways to present their songs. They even used this period to be more self-managed and even formed their own screen printing workshop.
Thus, a key moment for Ramona, was when they recently received a surprise announcement from their representative.
“Our manager, Memo García, went to a rehearsal that we were reviewing some things about the band and then he read us the invitation letter from Vive Latino and I really did tear because it was like a shock with myself when I was 15 and the truth feels very good,” said Jesús Guerrero.
The singer from Ojos Tristes added that Ramona is currently on her Sobre una nube tour, which began on March 11 in Mexicali and will cross many parts of the republic such as Teotihuacán in Mexico City, Chihuahua, Monterrey, State of Mexico, Puebla, Querétaro, among others.

“We are super happy, on top of that we are releasing music. Going for a Café was the first single from our 21-song album and it really feels very good that Omar, who is the drummer and producer of the band, is mixing and mastering all the music and is really cool, because more and more we feel that we are getting to sound more authentic”.
As for what his followers can expect for their next successes, Jesús remarked that within the band's musical production there will be something characteristic missing: the romantic lyrics that characterize them so much.
“Our music always revolves around love, even those who are not love as such have something there. They talk about love and are really like experiences of their own. Our music is not this kind of songs that talk about politics, that's something that doesn't interest us much right now,” he said.
